Sorry for the pun, it's part and parcel of all companies. Retailing is VERY VERY simple, just put the goods on the shelf and let the customer buy it. But the problem is, the idiots in the background. I bought a Kitchen Aid mixer from Argos. Their site took £500 in payment and said it will be ready to collect tomorrow, Sunday. The girlfriend went in to pick it up and the local branch doesn't know why their system said Sunday because they don't have one. So the manager said he'll order one in, should arrive Wednesday. Girlfriend got a phonecall to say it's landed Tuesday. So she went in. Apparently the one I bought is now in "Refund" status, the one in the shop needs paid for. She came home empty handed, I got my refund and ignored the idiots. Talking about Amazon, just in the process of writing my final letter to them before issuing court proceedings over a non delivered parcel. If I win that, I will instigate the High Court Sheriff (UK) to remove Amazon assets to clear the debt.
My refused delivery happened two weeks ago. Still no refund. I've filed a credit card chargeback. Companies don't work as well when they let computers actually administer the company. Can't wait to see what AI does to us.
For most of my purchases, I use local shops. The girlfriend uses the internet then whinges the high street is dying.
