ONLY in the eyes of those who don't read or do math well, they seem to think ignorance is to be celebrated. One job applicant answered the question of eye color as- "Bown". Couldn't pass a written test though he seemed to be relatively intelligent... and we figured out, he doesn't comprehend written information well enough to pass. HS diploma. 25 years old. Slanderous statement? I look at how you think, and realize that you are probably saying "Duh" everyday. Simply not sharp enough to notice that you don't know what you don't know.

In a recent study comparing 57 nations, American students were 17th in reading skills, 23rd in math skills. We spend the most to teach- and have better economics that nations who are doing far better. Research it. dozens of studies, all support those conclusions with minor variables. In other words, all world wide studies of this say you are wrong..

You are stuck where you are because you refuse to accept the truth of it- and you insult those that could help, as a way of defending against it. Denial of where you are and how you dodge responsibility makes nothing go away. Even in your own mind, it lurks in the shadows reminding you that you are only pretending- and you are the only one who can ever change that. Exactly the situation I was speaking of. Just unable to see the ball coming, let alone catch and run with it.

America has always been great and flawed and this will not change under Trump as terms like great and flawed are subjective. What is great to one will be seen as flawed to another and vice versa.

Aren't you intelligent enough to distinguish a typo/careless word from ignorance of proper spelling? Unlike you, that applicant didn't have a spellchecker available at the time. And note he/she was not an employee as you pointed out. Also, your last statement here was not a sentence as it lacked a subject. Similar to one of your other posts above where you said "Not an issue that a new law will affect at all." That isn't a sentence either for the same reason. But you raise a criticism you probably found on some website aimed at demeaning the person in question.

Right. Launch a personal attack and stamp your feet if you feel inadequate.

"That nations are doing better"??? Shall I slander you for not typing "than" as you did with the "Bown" entry on an app? Your spellchecker can't catch such errors, huh?

Oh? "Wrong" about what? Can you find any post anywhere where I said our system of education is tops or even among the best? I know it's lousy and I know it was badly damaged by Bush and his NCLB garbage. And national testing of students to find bad teachers is the wrong way to go about that, too. Shall I now say that you are "simply not sharp enough to notice that you don't know what you don't know"? Or would that be a personal attack as yours was?

I'm not "stuck" at all, accuser. I'm smart enough to realize who is brainwashed and biased and hopeless and who is not.

Well, somehow your accusations aren't ringing true at all since I retired early, live in a house worth over half a million bucks that is fully paid for, and have a net worth of over a million. And I'm also smart enough to know that when a person rattles off such slander and insulting accusations it is typically because they are actually describing their worst fears about themselves in their suffering of a low self-esteem.

We're not unified like we were during WW II. We've been Balkanized and socialized by the left.

We're just a shell of our former selves.

Ummmm...... since WWII the left (communist party, socialists, liberals, unions) have been systematically devastated and reduced to insignificance by the government and right wing media and propaganda. Are you saying the right is still too weak to overcome such a pathetic "force"?

So we shouldn't shoot for excellence?

    - - - Updated - - -

Yeah social dynamics and vitriol have gone off a cliff since Obama.

But you are right. This is something they have wanted for a long time. That's why Soros pays professional protesters.

Excellence? Yes. False advertising? No. Since America never lost her greatness despite the Trump Tumor, it is misleading to say "Make America Great Again."

Same slogan Reagan used. But then again, Trump is no Reagan.

Funny, in a study Denmark came up as the happiest country on earth.

I don't measure America's greatness by the body count we have overseas

    Define "low standard."

Obama, Bush and the rest of the establishment have been destroying this nation the past 2 decades.

Trump gives us a chance to grow more prosperous.

By appointing a bunch of CEO's who don't know what the hell they're doing? That's your definition of "prosperous?"

    Yes.

America is open for business again. Stock markets are adjusting accordingly.
