American people need to be slapped awake.
They like to condemn countries because of racism or whatever, but racism wasn't adressed in America until the civil rigts struggles just a few decades ago.

Muslim countries are condemend, but Americans should look back at their own history of about 99 years ago. [I used 99 years so nobody can say it was a loong time ago.]

We forget that it wasn't that long ago in America where the majority of the population was illiterate.

Funny how America has a civil rigts struggle, then immediately condemns South Africa for the same thing America has always been. Black people have been hated since Adam and Eve.

Women get some rigts in America, now America likes to condemn Muslim countries because the girls aren't allowed to wear mini-skirts, and walk around naked. But 99 years ago in America woman couldn't show their ankles, and on TV 50 or 60 years ago, actors didn't get in the same bed.

Its like an alcoholic being forced to quit boozing by his wife, then he goes on a mission to close all the bars in town. He quit and changed his ways, now everybody else should do like him now.

All I can say is "wow".

Did you even bother to check your own facts before you wrote them down?

First off, let me blast apart your claims of "illiteracy".

    http://nces.ed.gov/naal/lit_history.asp

No, 99 years ago most Americans were not illiterate. In fact, nation wide in 1870 (that is 143 years ago), the national literacy rate was 80% (only counting those 14 and over). In fact, 99 years ago the lowest ranking group in the country only had an illiteracy rate of 30%, so even most of them were literate.

Most of what you continue on with is about intolerance, separatism, and other things. Nothing to do with ignorance at all. And mostly just a hodge-podge of various complaints that seem to go nowhere.

A lot of internet users give me the impression that we either never escaped or are returning to that :D

It also helps explain why religion is still such a big thing here and so many don't even accept evolution.

that doesn't change the main point of his post, ie: once America changes, they then condemn the rest of the world for not changing yet, but not until.

So the point of this post is that people shouldn't condemn others for things they once did themselves but now believe is wrong? Does that mean I shouldn't get after my kids for doing their homework because I slacked off in school? Does that mean that the guy who's drug use destroyed his marriage and his career shouldn't be telling people to stay away from drugs. Maybe it only applies to countries, but then why pick on America, other countries do it to.

So you are now compounding ignorance about ignorance, with more ignorance.

"His facts are completely wrong, but he is right" if something I see all to often in here.

Sorry, but to me that entire post was ignorant and racist. And I guess nobody had any right to complain about Apartheid, since every nation practiced slavery at some point in their history. And because "American Women could not show their ankles 100 years ago", then nobody has a right to complain because in other nations women are stoned to death as a form of "divorce".

Sorry, I simply have no idea where that entire OP was trying to go, or where you are trying to go. Other then taking a bunch of nonsense and throwing it all together to try and justify your hatred of Americans.

When was that? Most of the history of the United States has been marked by a high literacy rate. Up until recently, anyway.

Granted, bathing suits in the 1920's were called "tank suits" and nothing like the few square inches of fabric seen today, but they weren't full body suits. Western swimwear for females in most of the western nations during the 19th century was form fitting and covered most of the top and down to about mid-thigh. You are probably thinking back to the Victorian age, which didn't affect the U.S. as much as it did Britain when it came to dress or swimwear.

Where do you come up with this stuff?

I'm not for the government here shaking fingers at other governments, this one certainly has some egregious human rights problems.

I never prevented women from voting. I never imposed on black folk's civil rights. I refuse this garbage guilt by association you're trying to lay on people. America's past crimes, are not my crimes. I have the right to criticize anything that runs counter to my morals, as any other person does. If you have issues of what happened a hundred years ago in this country, dig those people up from the grave an let them have it, because that (*)(*)(*)(*) doesn't fly me, bud.
