This political movement deserves more recognition. It intends to create a bipartisan ticket for its party platform. To choose its nominee, it allows all citizens to vote for any politician, or businessperson online.

Some notable people at the top of the list are Jon Huntsman, and Buddy Roemer.

I love the possibilities, but am not impressed with the implementation of their site. I just signed up 2 days ago and think that with the right web designers, it could be exactly what this nation needs. Having said that, I don't see the vision in the site right now to have confidence for 2012. By 2016, maybe.

Until you break the two-party political system run by your corporations, you will slide further into the mire they excrete.

    This might be a start.

Huntsman strikes me as as sensible middle-of-the-road politician who casts the rest of the Republican slate as media puppets dancing out Dante's Inferno.

Unfortunately he has the charisma of a cabbage.

Let me make sure I'm getting this right.
This sounds like if I vote for a memeber for this group, then he will become the "Head" of it. Then, the group will support that person.

You will become a member of a nomination committee, along with any other citizen that signs up. Your vote will go towards determining the bipartisan ticket for the American's Elect Party.

As of right now, you can contribute to the effort. However, you probably can contribute to the campaign after the ticket is chosen.

Okay. Doesn't really matter to me, but thanks for clearing it up for me.

Let American Select do it for you. Founded and funded literally by obscenely rich Banksters on the philosophy that the 1% knows what's best for you. You can nominate anyone you want, but the Banksters reserve the right to pat you on the head just before they choose the final candidate. Hear that, Ron Paul fans? There's no way in the world it's going to be no-wars-for-profit Ron Paul. Instead, it'll be a candidate that Banksters like.

We'll set up a little website that has everything but an open discussion forum - no need for that, because we're going to choose the candidate anyway. And even if the 1%ers chosen candidate doesn't win it all, they can use that "third party" candidate to throw a wrench in the works.

Thanks but no thanks, American Select Banksters. You're obviously what's wrong with the system, instead of any kind of real solution.

Giving this a bump - although some of the questions they use to suggest matches leave a lot to be desired, I like the concept. In fact, I'm open to just about anything that has some potential to break the stranglehold the two-party system has on the election process at the moment.

Yeah, but this is not it. It's a highly opaque outfit running a naive and probably Wall St agenda.

Here's the latest - no one was fooled. Not only have the people seen through this $9 million project where millionaires literally choose the candidate in the end, regardless of the number of votes, but the people also perceived something even more fundamental about the system - specifically, a third party isn't the answer. Despite their rhetoric, the Tea Party Caucus, which consists of about 20% of the House, turned out to be significantly more beholden to corporate big money interests than either traditional Democrats or Republicans:

The average Tea Party caucus member received more than $25,000 from the oil and gas industry, compared to about $13,000 for the average House member and $21,500 for the average House Republican.

The fact that the Tea Party is a wholy-owned subsidiary of big money lobby interests didn't come as any surprise to American Select voters. They knew that without enough money-is-speech money from corporations-are-people, the system would instantly corrupt anyone the electorate sent to the Hill anyway. The alternative would be that anyone who didn't accept this corporate bribe money would go up against an opponent who has in the next elect, and thus wouldn't stand a chance.

So after pouring $9 million and securing boundless free publicity, the people saw through the American Select Banksters' scam, and simply decided it was simply a colossal waste of time.
