    The worst single act of mass murder in human history and nobody was ever prosecuted.

    America IS Satan's nation.

    The Hague Convention, which are the rules of war, allowed the bombardment of defended targets. Guess what? Both Hiroshima and Nagasaki were defended. The Japanese had not declared them open cities.

    Which is why the US did it for them, I suppose.

    A 66 year old Cold Case File? I agree that the nukes should have been dropped on less populated areas, however, it is a little bit late to ask for retribution unless you are a waste of space lawyer. Why not set up a trial for Genghis Kahn next week?

    When you have enough hate mustered towards a race of people anything is possible. Plus, it was the only way to win the war against Japan in the pacific. At the time the US Army had major casualties from the Europe victory and the numbers of enlistment in the USA were getting low. Plus the fight in the pacific was taking it's toll in casualties with the USN and the USMC. So rather than risk the entire military they chose to wipeout Japan and its production of war supplies. Same can be said for all the other Asian wars thereafter. The only way the USA can beat them Asians in war is to kill off as many of them as you possibly can. It seems that they did not apply this mass killing techniqe in the following wars Korea and Vietnam, Iraq, and Afganistan. Because that would be the only way they could win those wars. Bomb them into submission, or wipe them off the face of the earth.

    Amazing stuff. That is why China will never go to war against the USA, they fear total nuclear wipeout. They would rather beat the USA in economics and technology. Their Chinese dreams may soon come true.

    Iwo Jima I believe (pretty (*)(*)(*)(*) sure actually) was the only land battle in the Pacific where the Japanese inflicted higher casualties on the Americans.

    From Wiki (often not the best source, but this page is well cited)

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    The first raid using low-flying B-29s carrying incendiary bombs to drop on Tokyo was in February 1945 when 174 B-29s destroyed around one square mile (3 km²) of the city.[citation needed] Changing their tactics to expand the coverage and increase the damage, 335 B-29s took off[3] to raid on the night of 9–10 March, with 279 of them[3] dropping around 1,700 tons of bombs. Fourteen B-29s were lost.[3] Approximately 16 square miles (41 km²) of the city were destroyed and some 100,000 people are estimated to have died in the resulting firestorm, more than the immediate deaths of either the Hiroshima or Nagasaki atomic bombs.[4][5] The US Strategic Bombing Survey later estimated that nearly 88,000 people died in this one raid, 41,000 were injured, and over a million residents lost their homes. The Tokyo Fire Department estimated a higher toll: 97,000 killed and 125,000 wounded. The Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department established a figure of 124,711 casualties including both killed and wounded and 286,358 buildings and homes destroyed. Richard Rhodes, historian, put deaths at over 100,000, injuries at a million and homeless residents at a million.[6] These casualty and damage figures could be low; Mark Selden wrote in Japan Focus:
    The figure of roughly 100,000 deaths, provided by Japanese and American authorities, both of whom may have had reasons of their own for minimizing the death toll, seems to me arguably low in light of population density, wind conditions, and survivors' accounts. With an average of 103,000 inhabitants per square mile (396 people per hectare) and peak levels as high as 135,000 per square mile (521 people per hectare), the highest density of any industrial city in the world, and with firefighting measures ludicrously inadequate to the task, 15.8 square miles (41 km2) of Tokyo were destroyed on a night when fierce winds whipped the flames and walls of fire blocked tens of thousands fleeing for their lives. An estimated 1.5 million people lived in the burned out areas.[7]
    America ended up being the more efficient killers, which is ultimately why the Japanese were defeated. Such has been the case since the dawn of time when it comes to warfare.
    The Japanese used guns and swords to achieve approximately 300,000 deaths in Nanking alone. If you begin your war effort with that kind of atrocity, don't be surprised if you eventually get a couple of atomic weapons dropped on you.
    War is not pretty or fair.
    The Geneva convention forbids the targeting of civilian populations. The Americans knew thousands of innocent people would die when they dropped the atom bomb and they did so anyway. If they were Germans or Japanese (ie the losers) the whole leadership of the American regime would certainly have hanged for this crime alone. Very much like Dresden where the Brits actually chose the town precisely because they knew it would turn into an inferno.
    So by your logic Al Qaeda were also justified in flying planes into buildings on 9/11, since the US government hadn't declared NY and Washington DC open cities.
    America and Britain have mastered the art of terror, followed by hypocritical justifications and self-righteousness beyond the comprehension of every other civilized nation on earth.
    America's motto - bombs will set you free!
    Absolutely, and it's time the ICC became recognized as nothing more than an instrument to punish the losers of war and stopped masquerading as this independent godly court of justice that it patently is not.
    You're not claiming one of the conventions from after the war, are you? Didn't apply in 1945 and you're allowed to kill civilians if you're hitting military targets.
    You obviously have a slight ignorance of Chinese world view. They have a patently racist worldview, and worse, it's racist worldview backed by the perception that it is Western Powers that prevented them from rising to rule the world sooner.
    I guarantee you that when China feels economically dominant enough, they are going to do something really stupid, like blockade the Western Pacific Ocean from US carrier battle groups.
    The US cannot, and will not stand for China to tell it where it can and can't send it's carriers. What will happen is the US well of course, conduct one of our famous "freedom of movement" exercises somewhere in international waters near China and the China will have no choice but to launch an attack to save face with the world.
    If that attack succeeds, and they sink a US carrier... that would be the eqivalent of casualties of another 9/11.
    The USA people will instantly evaporate the war weariness, the flags will come out on the porches and war will be inevitable.
    That is what is going to happen, it's inevitable. It's only a matter of 20-30 years tops. All the security experts in the world are certain of it.
    Mao once said that they don't care if they lose a few hundred million people that they'll just recover and make more babies than ever before.
    Not the only way, just the quickest, easiest way. Starving them into submission with a blockade would have worked just as good probably, although taken a bit longer.
    That was the mentality in this era. Terrorism was the key to expediting victory against Japan. The United States launched the two single biggest terrorist attacks in the history of the world. The United States seem to have abandoned such blatant outright terrorism as a tactic now and moved on, thankfully, although the drone bombings kill many innocents, at least they have individual targets in mind (most of the time) I like to think.
    Hopefully, the Muslim extremists who embrace the same tactic of terrorism as a means to wage war, will also abandon such a tactic and move on from it, as other countries have done, within the coming decades.. They seem a bit behind.
    All three sides ( the USSR wasn`t a real ally) bombed civilians in WW2. It was a struggle for survival. A little known fact is that Japan dropped more bombs on Darwin than Pearl Harbour. The OP is highly selective distortion to the point of fantasy.
