It is likely this bill will pass because businesses want cheap labor. Most coming over are not the peasants of the'70's. Most of these people are educated and skilled labor from all over the world. They will do what it takes to stay here, and business will bend to conforming to their competitors labor rates to remain competitive.
The economy is trying to revive but it is having trouble doing it at today's entry wage. Why hire a bitchy entitled citizen when you can get an eager hungry young worker who will head his head down and his mouth shut, and get paid under the table.
You can be sure the other blue states are watching this closely.

 

businesses want cheap labor but they want that labor illegal and hungry. i doubt many of your blue state (most certainly red counties) businesses want to pay unemployment insurance on their illegal employees.

i agree with your comments on citizens. american "job creators" do not want to employ citizens.
