As a man of 61 years, I can attest to the fact that the modern conservative party has been relentlessly attacking democrats since I was a kid. It has been a non-stop barrage. We are experiencing the legitimization of that decades long barrage of insults, slurs and attacks by the sitting President of the United States and his party in the Congress. At some point, the targets of this hatred end up returning the hatred in kind. What the right wing never seems to understand is that they are the minority. Our nation is moving left every single day socially and culturally and this drives them absolutely nuts. This month we are seeing the total reversal of thousands of years of male privilege in regards to the treatment of women. What is the conservative response? Biblical musings about a woman's role is in the home, subservient to her man, a brood mare unable to choose for herself, a bimbo, an object of desire, a virgin, a harlot, you name it, the right wing seems to be consumed with defining and controlling women. If people here lose their temper, good. It is time for all of us to just have it out publicly because silence is complicity.

 

I have a roll for you, start paying the highest income tax rate you advocate that others pay.

 

Gladly as long as it is a progressive tax, I am perfectly happy to pay more in taxes as I have done in the past when I had big years. What I find absolutely fascinating about the conservative voter is that they feel sorrow for the burden placed upon high income earners by the progressive tax system. They imagine themselves as a person who just earned 100 million dollars and had to pay 50 million of it in taxes. The sheer idiocy of this type of thinking reveals their hidden dreams and hopes, they want so badly to be that person yet know they will never, ever get there. If you refused to take half of a 100 million dollar payday because you felt taxes were unfair then there is no reaching you. I am putting words in your mouth simply because this is exactly where the conservative economic agenda leads, millions of poor white people crying over tax burdens none of them will ever endure without the ability to grasp a fundamental truth about wealth. Once you get into the millions of dollars, the next million is meaningless.

 

Even if this pop stand was an Abbey,there is no way that human
beings can be tempered to disregard their true feelings.
It is one of the great wonders of God's creation.To create man in the
image of a superior being.With Feelings and a Conscience.
That necessitates btw ... emotions.Beligerence is not an emotion
as much an action or response to a situation or stimulus.
Hate is one of the strongest of emotions.It is the deep and extreme
example of dislike.

 

-and bickering. I've often said forums bring out the worst in humans by offering a way to express pent up hate and anger with life in general and aim it at a perceived "enemy", even if that enemy must first be defined and characterized very unfairly to provide the opportunity.

 

I've posted on a few forums and this one is pretty typical when it comes to the number of angry posters. Maybe these forums serve as a societal safety valve in some sense. I dunno.

The nastiest forums are those involving youth sports. One of my daughters played competitive softball and I joined a forum of coaches and parents. One parent accused the coach of an opposing team of murder. It was a bogus accusation and they took the forum down shortly afterwards.

 

What is good for one year is great every year. Have you ever had a big year? I have. Believe me, you will like it if it ever happens to you.

 

Including yourself as one of these humans correct?

a Storm but seldom delievered other than his own safety net.
The left is proving day by day how they manipulated and used
the good intentions of average voters to exploit their near insane
grab on power and control.
The Left { of all political party } is No friend of Females and
the Middle class.It was a huge scam.
No President in History was ever afforded what the Fraud
Barack Obama was given. That being a $ 60 Million dollar book
deal before he even wrote a post-Presidency book.

As I say,, the “world is on fire.” Growing tensions with North Korea, a far right government taking hold, division opening a trench deeper than what Obama ever opened in eight years combined, I know of some people who absolutely refuse to speak with relatives who voted for Trump or Clinton.

 

The West has just gone through two decades of increasingly extreme liberalism, and if the 'far right' is on the rise then it's just proof that extremism begets extremism. Bottom line - don't blame the right, blame the left for motivating them.

 

In your opinion is some "Right" or "Left" who:
- supports the death penalty,
- opposes gun control
- is pro choice
- opposes more aid to Israel
- opposes "hate speech" laws
- supports legalizing marijuana
- supports the Nuclear Deal with Iran

 

Except for the last one, they're all ethical questions rather than political Left or Right?

 

Still pushing that same old narrative eh?
