DC Schools: $29,349 Per Pupil, 83 Percent Not Proficient in Reading

    May 14, 2014, By Terence P. Jeffrey

these schools were not "proficient" in reading and 81 percent were not "proficient" in math.

So, what on earth are they being taught?:roll: The article @ http://cnsnews.com/commentary/teren...29349-pupil-83-percent-not-proficient-reading doesn't say

    They aren't being taught anything.

The government is too busy indoctrinating them, rather than teaching them things like reading, writing, and math.

They'd really hate me if I got a hold of the American Education system.

I'd like useless subjects like history and biology to be relegated to electives rather than mandatory. Even algebra.

I mean, come, who really thinks in algebraic terms other than people whose jobs require them to think in such ways?

So they can't read and write or so practical mathematics? Seriously these standards are created by educators who can change them at will each year to always make children seem dumb, I suggest base standards on a solid standard what you need to know to do half the jobs not requiring college as the base. Then go over that. You could have Basic Proficiency could be 8th to 9th grade level, Average Proficiency 10th to 11th grade level and College Ready 12th grade+ level. There you go the required skills should be easy enough to figure out.

And there would be no need for guessing if you can't at least read a magazine article for information and do basic functions in life you are likely special education.

Here is where I disagree with you. History teaches what stupidity has gone on in the past so we don't make the same mistakes again.

Biology introduces young people to the most basic rules of life. They don't need an advanced degree and they don't need to cut frogs open.
