When Kit Laney answered a knock on his door Saturday, law enforcement officers from the U.S. Forest Service handed him a piece of paper announcing his Diamond Bar Ranch in southwest New Mexico would be shut down Wednesday and his 300 head of cattle grazing there would be removed one way or the other. Its not just the Bundys. All over the west family ranches have been pressured out of business by our government. Its escalating now. There have been small squelched reports in many areas of the same range war happening now. I believe this article just may have some clues as to why this war is being raged. Why now? Same as the IRS, because they can. The ecoterrorists have an agenda and now they have enough sympathizers in government to implement it. The Wildlands Project is the trigger finger targeting Americans beef industry. http://www.americasfreedomfighters....h-property-owners-fight-government-land-grab/
From the link in the OP. He knew someday there would be an on-the-ground confrontation to enforce a 1997 court ruling which says his cattle are trespassing on federal land. That day has arrived. Laney insists the land in question belongs to him; the Forest Service says it belongs to the federal government. So far, the federal court is on the side of the Forest Service. But Laney is not willing to throw in the towel and give up the land that has been in his family since long before there was a U.S. Forest Service. Since 1997. Amazing. 17 years it would appear that he knew that he should have his cattle off the land, and 17 years he ignores it. I find it so amazing that folks defend scofflaws.
I see it a war on all of us. I see it as a slap in the face of the American Indians that once inhabited these lands and were killed so our government could sell grass to cows. I'm sure McDonalds will survive so your safe.
When the day comes some federal agency tells you your 1st Amendment rights are no longer valid and a federal court agrees I hope your equally amazed.
you've been eating scofflaw hamburgers your whole life, but now your political party says it's bad so you do too.
Now? Hmmm. It seems this case, at least according to the article I read, has been going on for at least 17 years.
Laney, like Bundy, has been illegally grazing cattle on federal lands. In effect, both have been stealing from American taxpayers. In both cases, neither of these ranchers has any claim on these lands. Laney also assaulted a federal officer. Talk about your moochers.
What is with all these ranchers who ignore stuff for 15 to 20 years then get surprised when they are finally called on it? Doesn't sound like the personal responsibility that I hear the right go on and on about.
they are, in fact, contributing food - - - Updated - - - Right, moochers who work their butts off and keep america fat and happy on burgers and steak. I'll take that any day of the week.
And this right here says it all. He's known since 97' and has had plenty of time to do something about it. Their may be more to the story that isn't available right now but so far he doesn't have much of a case.

maybe they should do what thousands of other beef farmers do, purchase their land. Or at least PAY the lease to use the land if you agreed to one.....
conservatives will defend conservatives. although land stealing doesn't seem to be a good conservative trait to have.....
Sometimes my neighbor's dogs eat the grass on my lawn. Perhaps i'll surround his house and post snipers.
The land belongs to the rancher. That's why it's called......A ranch. Read the article. The Forest service doesn't have the authority to tell the rancher how many cows he can graze, let alone confiscate his legally settled property.
