Portland Antifa rioter charged with assaulting police has case dismissed after 30 hours community service

.....Portland Police said Warner directed a high-powered laser into the eyes of law enforcement officers trying to disperse the crowd. Warner resisted arrest, prompting officers to use force, the DOJ said. A laser pointer was found on Warner.

Warner was booked into custody and charged with intentionally obstructing, impeding, interfering with law enforcement officers engaged in official duties but later released without bail.

About a week later, Warner was arrested again and charged with second-degree criminal mischief in connection with another riot. Warner was again released from custody without bail.

A week after that, Warner was arrested a third time in connection with yet another riot and charged with interfering with a peace officer and second-degree disorderly conduct. Warner was once again released without bail.

Amid a federal investigation, U.S. Marshals arrested Warner Sept. 2, 2020, in a southeast Portland apartment without incident. Warner appeared in court before a U.S. Magistrate Judge the next day and was later released pending further court proceedings. Warner was looking at a maximum five-year sentence in federal prison if convicted.

Attempted to blind police officers while engaged in a violent riot. 3 subsequent arrests for insurrection as the left terms such political protest. Repeat offender WHILE OUT on a custody bail.

And the US Attorney says "in the interest of justice" the case be dismissed and charges dropped because he did 30 hours of unspecified "community service". Is this the same degree of prosecution we are seeing with the Jan 6 rioters? Even those who were not charged with violence but mere tresspassing? Are they all being released without bail?

(In fact many of those rioters were being held in jail without bail)

Compare that with the man who was sentenced to 4 years and had bail denied for assaulting a police officer during the capitol riot.

Hmm... double standards? Politically biased judges?

"The violence that happened that day was such a blatant disregard to the institutions of government," the judge said before handing down the sentence.

I actually had one Progressive Leftist in this forum openly come out and tell me that the two are very different, "because Antifa has legitimate grievances".

So apparently it's not that bad if the "cause" is good.
