Any good books on Trump’s appeal to his supporters?

What I am looking for are books written by Trump supporters about why he is so popular among conservatives. I would also like to read books written by academics that don’t pander to either audience and give a more statical analysis of the complexities of the right wing in America today. So looking for some recommendations.

For any interested in a good book on a similar subject is called 20 Myths about Religion and Politics in America by Ryan Burge. Some of the statistics about the Christian Right were surprising and counter to what the partisan left and partisan right media portray them as.

I think you're asking (somewhat obliquely) the wrong question

For starters you need to ask whether Trump "supporters" actually support him or not. If not then why do they act like they do

This question has been asked hundreds of times on this forum since Trump declared in 2015 and the issue is that no matter how many times you're told, you won't believe it. What you really need to do is just Google some articles from the Nation, Slate, and Salon, and they will give you the answer you want, because you are not going to believe/understand the answers from actual Trump supporters.

Trump’s appeal is very simple: his policies and his cojones.

If Biden had the same policies we would all support him.

    it’s that easy.

Trump allows people to express their racism and bigotry in a way that they haven't been able to in quite a while and they love him for that.

Proof? What things did Trump say to enable racism? If you are just gonna repeat some BS you probably heard on THE VIEW at least back it up with something.
    TYPICAL!

It seems that deep down, Trumper's are people who want to belittle people they disagree with and label them with disparaging terms. Trump has allowed their inner A hole to shine bright. I've seen this change in my brother. He now feels, as if it's his duty, to say things to people no matter how hurtful it is. He's lost all empathy.

No you expressed a belief that has everything to do with personal prejudice and nothing to do with facts,

What example your brother says hurtful to you? What he hurt your feelings? Sounds more like the usual leftist whine when someone else destroys their pretense at logic via superior facts and information. Leftist always whine about hurt feeling the minute they start to lose an argument.

I am looking for something deeper than topical articles. As for your statements about me, you assume too much.

I don't trust any such books unless they are written by a true, non-biased centrist and I'm not sure if they even exist.

I have found Trump supporters to not be so one note. I don’t think you appreciate the complexities of Trump supporters even if you are one. I seek more than the topical.

Too many on the left like to belittle the right also. Do not assume that the human nature seen in the right does not exist in the left. Partisanship biases thus making the partisan blind to their hypocrisy. For example my old man is a hard core conservative. He says that the left can be downright mean, to which I agree. Then I tell him that the right can be downright mean too, to which he seems shocked that I would even say such a thing. He is blind to the hypocrisy of the right just as the left is blind to its own hypocrisy.

Human nature is systemic my friend.

    Agreed
I've made no assumptions. The question was asked about Trumper's so I supplied an answer. If it was asked about Biden supporters I would have answered accordingly pointing out their behaviors.

I see how BOTH sides treat each other. It's downright horrible it's to the level it is. Sad we (general we) can't just accept each others differences. Hell, I don't want to live in a world where everyone thinks exactly the same. How boring that would be.

There are some good books written by people that do go to great lengths to minimize their own bias. Political leanings of an author matters little to me as I have read enough conservative and liberal authors that were able to place fact over political loyalty. In the OP I recommend one such book. It is rare, but every once in a while I come across a book written by a leftist or conservative or a theist that is critical of their own in group. People like that command my respect as it is a rarity.

As for books written by unapologetically biased partisans, they are important to me as well as they give me raw insight into the mind of a loyalist. These types of books I know are unabashedly biased but as I am looking for unfiltered thoughts I am fine with that.
