I don't think I can play well enough for a song to be interesting without vocals, the only instrumental only musicians I am aware of are several light years ahead of me.

Check out a guitarist named Trace Bundy, look up "Love Song".

If you like purely instrumental music, you will be blown away.

Just book our two gigs for November, we just play weekends and like to have a couple of practice sessions each month too. City booked us for downtown New Years Eve celebration, second time for that. Studied 4 years of piano then 2 years of classical bass when I was in school. Then the Beatles came on Ed Sullivan and it's been primarily guitar ever since. Blues band now. Some might think that the standard I-IV-V blues progression doesn't lend itself to much theory but it does. I don't know as much as most jazz guys but understand progressions and how chords are made and use that for my soloing. Especially on some of the "jazzier" tunes we play.

    It's what keeps me young!

Played a bit at a bar last night for a Halloween party thing. Played a couple originals, some covers, lent the guitar to a friend so he could do awesomeness.

    It was fun.

For me rather. Knowing music theory and being able to read music doesn't make it any less about heart and soul, to the contrary I think it helps. Then again everyone is different.

My Strat is a Deluxe with the S1 switching but only use about 2 of those settings and my go to Tele of course is simplicity at it's best! Did change the Tele pickups to Dimarrzio Area T's for noise cancelling as in some bars the neon lights and bad power can be a problem.

These guys know all about music theory, so I can't deny that it isn't useful, but still not vital.

My God I love open mics. So much talent.

A music mash up, two or three songs played as one (I am not any of these guys). I played Sound of Silence with a friend of mine.... fun.

I play at the open mic at the Blue Moon almost every week. That's where I met this sweetie. We're supposed to get together to record.

I play keys, guitar and sax, saxaphone being my favorite, tenor ,alto and soprano, all "Big B" Beushcers, for about 40 years.

Am in the market for a Beuscher baritone, circa 1948 or so...
