And so I assume you favor repealing that part of the 1st Amendment, since you believe that something which can be chosen should not be a right?

In any case, we now know that human beings are not all heterosexual. The Constitution mentions/addresses HUMAN BEINGS. There is no getting around the practical reality, that it does (in-effect) address human beings of many types.

One doesn't have to be any legal expert/scholar to realize and even accept that.

Of course, great point (which few honestly address, as you just did).

Well, in reference to the OP, I would point out that there are in fact MANY "non-religious" arguments against same-sex marriage.

However, none of them are rational/logical. They all involve logical fallacy and/or irrational thought.

I am amazed at the lengths that people will go to deny equal protection under the law to a social minority they feel is undeserving of such protection.

Many people who think/behave as you mention above, don't think about being the one whose 'rights' are violated or denied. In essence, they are idiots.

This is far from proof. A gay man can have his semen implanted in a lesbian and you have procreation.

Procreation has NOTHING to do with someones sexuality.

The brain scans shows that when it comes sexuality, that homosexual men brains are strikingly similar to that of heterosexual women:

I notice you don’t have anything to say about the above.

And I notice you left this out:

Scans on homosexual men and heterosexual women revealed both sides of the brain were the same size.

Come back when you have an honest response to the article. Better yet, try finding an article that disputes this findings instead of just referring as 'junk science'. The only junk around here is your responses.

Savic's team has yet to confirm whether the differences in brain shape are responsible for sexual orientation, or are a consequence of it.

whether its responsible for sexual orientation, or are a consequence of it is pretty irrelevant actually. The bottom like is homosexuals brains are the same as the opposite sex.

Wallow in your fail buddy. You may want to invest in a thinking cap...mmmkay?

I am always surprised, I am not sure why, at what lengths some people will go to deny another man of his rights.

Well golly, you might be on to something here!

Has The "Gay Gene" Been Found in Female Mice?

So maybe procreation does have something to do with sexuality.....BUT if homosexuals are missing a gene for reproductive behavior, that would make homosexuality BIOLOGICAL....Sorry you still LOSE!

Sure, just like it protects the right of sea urchins to teach calculus, or my right to flap my arms and fly to the Moon.

I'm never particularly surprised that some people try to impose their will on others even as they play the victim card.

And just what do you imagine I'm ignorant of, that a reasonable person ought to know about the issue?

Right. The 14th Amendment protects the rights of Americans to do all kinds of things you might not particularly find palatable or useful, but which don't harm you in the slightest.

Sounds like you're finally getting it.

You are clueless, state rights. States have the right to legalize gay marriage.

Granting rights to a social minority is not forcing anyone's will on.... well, anyone. It is the bigots who force their will on other by using the government to impose their will on the people.

The attempt is to impose, on every American with a lick of sense, participation, however incidental, in the delusion that two people of the same sex can be married.

We are not talking about something that is merely unpalatable or useless, we are talking about something that is impossible.

Pro tip: anyone with at least a minimal understanding of the Constitution has sense enough not to appeal to 14AS1 for states' rights.
Sure we're all bigots for imposing our collective will on kleptomaniacs.

No one is asking you to participate in anything. Anyone "with a lick of sense" can see that. So you don't think it is legitimate? So what? There are plenty of marriages out there that are already being recognized that we can all agree are not legitimate.

    What is the participation?

There's no more participation or imposition than the First Amendment is imposing participation in religion on atheists. It's merely allowing it to exist.
    (1) Considering that, in 6 states, it's happening as we speak, calling it "impossible" makes it very, very hard to view your position as anything other than ridiculous and outdated bigotry.

    (2) Even if I assume your position regarding "impossibility", the 14th Amendment would protect Americans' right to attempt "impossible" acts, so long as they are not directly harming others.

So, I'll rephrase: The 14th Amendment protects the rights of Americans to do all kinds of things you might think are impossible. The plausibility of something occurring has absolutely zero bearing on whether it is a protected behavior under the 14th Amendment; if anything, "impossible" behavior would have greater protection, because the government surely has no compelling interest in restricting something that cannot happen anyway.

Plus, why do you so viciously oppose something that is impossible anyway? If it is impossible, there's no way it can happen, there is certainly no way you can "participate" in it.

Why oppose something that can't possibly ever happen?

Of course they are. That's the whole point of enshrining this insanity in law.
Perverts and their enablers are going to use the law to justify marginalizing anyone with the temerity to call a spade a spade, which will eventually become a hate crime.
Their illegitimate aspects are not enshrined in law, except in the case of SSM.

No it is not, and it never will. You will likely never get that, but that's your problem.
We are not talking just about an impossible act, but also about government legitimization of a delusion. Nobody has any right to that.

You still can't seem to come up with any participation on your part. What, exactly, are you required to DO if same sex marriage is legal.

If you can find anyone trying to get beliefs or speech labelled as a "hate crime," I will gladly fight alongside you to stop that from happening.

You really need me to go through a litany of perfectly legally heterosexual marriages that are obviously illegitimate? Would I really have to look further than the entertainment section of any newspaper?

Where is free speech being marginalized? Fred Phelps pickets the funerals of soldiers, homosexuals, and terrorists victims alike. His free speech has been upheld on all accounts. So how is free speech being marginalized?

Or do you mean by this comment that speech "you" don't "like" isn't being repressed?

How is government recognition of same sex marriage a delusion?

Perhaps you should to rid yourself of the illusion that you can force minorities into being treated as a lesser class of person.

Initially, nothing - which of course is why you're asking the wrong question.

No you won't, because you're aiding and abetting the kind of people who will make that a reality, and you don't have the stones to face it - so how in Hell are you gonna stand up to the tiger when you wouldn't confront the cub?

    You didn't understand a word I said.
