go to my computer - C - users - your folder - There are some folders and some files with long names. can I delete all these files which are not in any folders?
as long as you are not going to use them it is ok to delete them..just clean them up...will it make much of a difference.?..probably not...
This is bad advice. Being in his user profile folder, it's obviously not system files, however, he didn't provide us with a list of the files/folders in question or even any other info whatsoever, so we really can't tell what he's referring to. Normally, files aren't placed directly in the user folder, but again, we don't know in this case. As a general rule of thumb, if you don't know what it is or what it does, don't touch it. As a corollary, the less knowledgeable you are regarding computers, the more important this rule becomes.
Depends, if those folder/files are associated with your OS it will cause issues. I would get a secondary OS (I have a guide for Tails in the members chat section )on a flash stick then try to delete them. If it does corrupt the OS you can go into Tails and change anything you've already deleted. If you have any Dell programs be careful, they are known to lock you out d you delete the wrong folder. - - - Updated - - - OS files can be found in personal files, it's a bug with older versions of Win 7.
1) Dont do anything as administrator, use standard account, if it wants admin, probably not a good idea until you know what they are doing. 2) Run a program called Disk Cleanup, Windows Administrative tools, but temp files usually are in C:\ not a at the home under your user. There is a folder in C:\Users\YourUserName called appdata, kind of invisible looking, dont touch that obviously, until you know what you are doing. Any folders with . In front probably was installed by something like a Linux program, .amazon .freemind .gem If you open a terminal or command prompt, it will show some NTUSER.DAT files, really long looking, leave it alone. If in doubt google it, dont ask us.
do you people have such files? C:\users\YourUserName\ ntuser.dat{06bd8db4-ab40-11e1-b010-b870f41d1c6a}.TM.blf, file type blf size 64k ntuser.dat{65301df5-239c-11e4-bd33-b870f41d1c6a}.TMContainer00000000000000000002.regtrans-ms --------------------- can I delete them??
