I graduated in 1996 in Houston Texas. Both middle school and high school I was not required to take a shower.

It's very strange to require such a thing, and that people think it is a valuable part of education.

Me to, every one of my class mates and I attended a huge school didn't either.

Yeah, no idea who showers in school. Maybe it's just a sports thing.

Ok, so in New York and Houston they allow smelly kids to go to class after PE. I graduated from High School in Orange Park, FL where we were required to shower. The Conference with my oldest son's teacher was in California, and my youngest son's was in Georgia. So, I guess the real question is whether the schools in Louisville, KY requires students to shower.

No, the real question is, why do some people insist on making children get naked and shower in a group? Seems a bit bizarre to me. It really bothered my father when he found out we didn't shower at school.

I didn't roll around in dead stuff during p.e. so I didn't smell bad. Neither did any of my class mates. I don't take a shower at work as an adult, does that mean I am smelly? I take one shower a day. It's always at home. Do adults just grow out of smelling bad?

Did you catch the irony of the quote attributed to Atherton Principal Dr. Tom Aberli?

Why would it matter to a transgender which bathroom that they use? Simply comfort. They are more comfortable using the bathroom of the gender that they identify themselves as, and not based on their physical appearance. Now, apply the Principle's statement to the issue: "Just because someone does not feel comfortable, doesn't mean their rights are being violated." There is no reason for the policy. If a transgender feels uncomfortable using a restroom or locker room based on their physical appearance, it does not mean that their rights are being violated. The issue boils down to who should be forced to feel uncomfortable. The majority of the student body, or a few transgender individuals.

In other words, you did not participate in the required physical activity. So, you didn't sweat. If you did participate, then you might not have noticed that you stank, but I am sure that others noticed your stank. I guess they were to polite to tell you. The reason that showering is required is called personal hygiene.

Rolling around in dead stuff was required physical activity?

I did sweat, I also sweat on my walk to school, on the way home, sometimes during class. I didn't take a shower every time I sweat, I sweat at work. I am not required to take a shower.
If you did participate, then you might not have noticed that you stank, but I am sure that others noticed your stank.
I was pretty good at swimming. I was on the school swim team. Yeah, I did smell like chlorine when I finished. So did everybody else. I walked home and took a shower. I only really stink if I spend a lot of time outside doing physical activity. Every other student participated in gym class, my high school didn't have gym class showers, I don't remember smelling anybody else. Nobody showered at my school.

No, nobody showered in my school. Personal hygiene is personal. Therefore not a class requirement. We didn't wipe our asses as a group or brush our teeth as a group. If it becomes disruptive than it needs to be addressed. And again as I said, my high school didn't have any shower facilities. I only recall two people in my entire four years of attending school, being sent home over disruptive odor. One was my friend Josh, who had a condition that caused him to smell. Even right after he got out of the shower. And another kid who was I am unfortunate predicament where he was living in a home that had no water, he apparently was a bed wetter.

So, maybe people just stink more where you come from.

What? I thought that having a dick but still thinking that you're a girl WASN'T a psychological disorder. Isn't that the whole basis of the liberal argument? Because if it IS a psychological disorder, then letting little Johnny call himself Jane is ENABLING the illness. And if it isn't a psychological disorder, then there's no reason to go to a shrink. A mere assertion that you are a physically male lesbian should suffice. Liberal doublethink. You're trying to have it both ways. And as much as liberals pretend that transgenderism is just as valid as, well, anything, deep down you know that they're just (*)(*)(*)(*)ed up in the head. But you still don't want them to get psychological help to defeat that illness, on the contrary, you just want to encourage it.

Explain how "letting Johnny call himself Jane" is enabling the illness. Explain what you do to cure a mental illness. So far as I know people only really learn to cope with mental illness with treatment.

If Johnny calling himself Jane is the treatment, you wouldn't be enabling anything you would be helping that person cope.

How do you "fix" somebody who is transgender?

So now some wiseass non-homo can claim hes a "girl on the inside" and go creeping on the barely clothed teen ladies.

Where the hell are the feminazi's and why aren't they crying "war on women"?

Oh well, one more freak the country will have to coddle thanks to the glorious mental defect enabling liberal agenda of "everything normal is bad".

You nailed it. The kid may identify as female, but he's not, and there's no responsible reason to teach this kid the universe revolves around HIS identity.

This is one thing about some people that just makes my teeth rattle. Because they or their kid has a mental problem like this one, then everyone should kowtow and give up their rights to make him/her happy & comfy. No, it's the transgender that should accept the fact that life goes on and until they have had the necessary surgery for the gender change, don't expect others to change the rules just for them......

It doesn't work that way...... well, it never did b/f and it shouldn't now, but b/c of the liberal mentality, it's sure becoming that way.

Wow, a post full of nothing. Color me surprised. So, can you even say whether it is or is not a psychological disorder, according to you? Or would that pin you down too much, and not allow you to pick the answer most convenient for the point you are currently trying to make?

To wit, I have decided that it is time I "came out". I am actually a bull dyke. Heretofore I shall be known as "Chris", and I shall use woman's facilities. I think I'll join a gym.

Pretending that delusions are real is not "coping". It is the opposite of coping. Your "treatment" would be like assuring a paranoid schizophrenic that "they" are, in fact, out to get him.

OK so, it is a disorder. So then why do you promote mental illness?

I'll be the bull dyke who looks like Walter White. I'm glad that it's perfectly acceptable to both be gay AND the gender opposite my genitalia. I think now might be the time to get into sports as well.

I wasn't aware that gender disphoria was a delusional disorder. I thought it was disphoria.

Delusions are false events that the delusional person absolutely believes. Delusions can be false realities also. But, transgender people aren't delusional, they understand that their physical sex doesn't match up with how they feel. The recognize reality. Thus they don't deny it, thus there is no delusion.

You can't cure a disphoria, all you can do is help the person suffering from it to cope.

Dysphoria is only a symptom. It's not the illness itself. The reason you can't cure a dysphoria is that you have to deal with the underlying cause. In this case that cause is a delusional state of mind wherein the person holds a strong belief that they are actually a woman instead of a man (or vice versa), despite the scientific evidence of DNA and their own genitalia.

Show that theyare deluded. They don't believe that they are actually the other sex, if they did they wouldn't call themselves transgender, they would call themselves men or women respectively. They wouldn't think they needed hormone therapy or reconstructive surgery. Their delusion would supplant the false reality.

They completely accept reality, they may say that they are this sex, trapped in that sexes body, but that may be possible, thus it isn't considered a delusion.

Gender dysphoria has never been listed as a paranoia. So there wouldn't be any delusion. They are simply unhappy, uncomfortable, or even anxious about their sex. They may just feel that they identify with the opposite sex more. That isn't a delusion.

They don't think they are the opposite sex, they just feel like the opposite sex.

Read up on it, it's quite interesting.

I would agree with that. It's not realistic to say there is no coherence between a woman and a transwoman. There clearly is. If somebody is parapaligic they don't make the whole school sit in a wheel chair.

There is another issue, the trans student can't be with the same sex either. I think if a boy, wearing a bra and panties in a locker room full of boys, it would be just as inappropriate. The family of the trans child needs to accommodate him/her.
