If we look at who benefited, it seems to be the rich people who wanted to buy the land but couldn't and now can. It the story about the policeman stopping cars with people trying to escape turns out to be true, that fits the scenario; if the owners are dead, it's easier for those rich people to get the land.
If the satellite theory turns out to be wrong, there are plenty of other plausible scenarios that would explain how the fires started. Right now I'm sitting on the fence.

Why Laser Weapons Didn't Work, But Are Now Coming Back

 

I was peripherally involved with Directed Energy years ago. There were a variety of weapons at that time under development which included, but were not limited to :
- Stingray - A man-portable weapon which scanned an area with a low power laser. When a reflection from optics or an eyeball (like the light reflected in the proverbial "headlights in a deer's eyes") was encountered, the laser focused down with the object of boiling the fluid in the enemy eyeball and blinding him.
- CCLAW - Close Combat Laser Assault Weapon - A higher power version of Stingray, vehicular mounted, that could "score" enemy optics, rendering them opaque.
- CHAMP - A non-nuclear EMP generator which could be programmed to cover a city block or much greater areas, rendering enemy microcircuits inoperable,

@Scott, thanks for the video, plus the page's additional links. What the video did better than previous posts was clearly highlight and describe the oddities almost all of the California fires had in common.

Thing is, California and Hawaii weren't the only places with these oddities. An image search for 'map of global wildfires' found a NASA map dated October 26, 2019. The map below "represents a hotspot detected over the previous 24 hours by the Moderate Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer (MODIS) instrument aboard NASA’s Terra and Aqua Earth observing satellites."

Easy enough to image search '<country> wildfires' to find lots of examples of the same oddities depicted in the video Scott posted. And they've been happening around the globe for nearly a decade.

Opinions may differ on what initiated/maintained the wildfires. However, it seems clear whatever tech was used in California and Hawaii, was similarly used at the wildfires below.

Power consumption. That's where it comes down to really. Available power.

The aircraft that fires said laser has multiple powerplants that are not only generating the thrust needed to keep the aircraft in the skies, but generate the power needed to power the laser. And they're only trying to punch through 8 miles of atmosphere if they were hitting a ground target.

A satellite is using Solar Panels and Radioisotope Thermoelectric Generators (RTGs) and neither of them have the power to sustain a laser capable of punching through 62 miles of atmosphere. We do that from the Earth to the moon, but we on the ground have access to power grids.

So...that's pretty much the reason they can't. Available power. Planes have it, sats do not.
