Oh! Bless! Quoting from “Wattsupmybutt”! And the “paper” is an article posted on the “Heartland” website which is not loading for me at the moment (I think my iPad might be “leftist” lol)

Now discounting the fact that NOAA has long known of the so called problems with data measurement it does have mechanisms in place to address this. But let’s look at the bigger picture. The USA is less than 2% of all land surface on the planet. Are you going to try and tell me that every met bureau in the world is making the same mistake as NOAA???

The actual report is linked in the article - Maybe you should read it before you make a fool of yourself? Oops, too late.

And maybe you should read my post all the way through

Heartland is a biased site known for being a home for Big Energy/oil astroturf. I was unable to load the Heartland post but being on heartland does NOT make it peer reviewed and you have not addressed my point about the USA data only being a very small fraction of total global data

    Not loading at the moment

Is it just an unpublished PDF or has it actually been peer reviewed?

So, it seems like you're just throwing up a tone of crap because you can't argue with the results of the report.

Heartland didn't write the original report - have you read it yet? Or are just fanning the flames for your smoke screen?

    Won’t load

But I am not claiming Heartland wrote it. I am asking because it will not load for me, if this is published outside of Heartland and if it is peer reviewed

And you still have not addressed the issue of American versus global data

The “results” are crap unless it has been peer reviewed - has it?

No science, good science is always is peer reviewed - I have yet to hear the question answered

BTW do you actually know what “peer review” is?

Why would a report on the unreliability of US weather stations address the world? Your still running around aimlessly. Maybe they used the wrong font or the cover is the wrong color.

It FINALLY loaded and as I suspected it is an unpublished PDF that has NOT been peer reviewed. Until it goes through peer review it is opinion not science

I see you are not answering my question and it is an essential part of critical analysis

It was published by the Heartland Institute. Read it or don't read it -- your choice.

You didn't address anything but promote your prejudice.

Anthony Watts lives in America which is where the Surface Stations project was done.

Heartland didn't make the report itself; it came from Anthony Watts who first posted about it at his blog 13 years ago, but you didn't know that because your prejudice gets in your way.

No, they are not global it never was it is dominated by the NORTHERN Hemisphere warming trend.

There are areas of long-term cooling that you ignore all the time.

    Tsk tsk.
Albert Einstein only had one anonymous peer review in his career — and the paper was rejected. This happened in 1936. A decade and a half earlier in 1905, Einstein's annus mirabilis (remarkable year), he had published four breathtaking papers. May 14, 2020
