Where did I say it was not work? I very specifically referred to it as "divison of labour" and what is this nonesense about her not being paid for it? She got something that was much more worthy than any monthly salary of any size there is - She got to spend time with her children and see them happy.

What technology do we have that makes household work easier? Well, apart from what I already mentioned in form of electricity, vacuum cleaners, microwaves, ovens, refridgerators, washing machines and dishwashers, we also have cars, portable telephones, agricultural technologies and trade that allows us to buy fresh vegetables even during the darkest and colderst of winters and we even have the Internet that allows us to go grocery shopping wihout leaving the house. If you think household work is harder now than in the past, you must be very blind to history.

And this does not even mention the medical advancenments that has brought down the martenal and neo-natal deaths to nearly zero. If women were also out working, none of this would have ever been possible.

This is both wrong and ungrateful. Only two generations ago, there was not even half as many oppourtunities as now.

    You are 234 years old?

So what? Most women of the past did not really care. My grandmother only had five years of schooling and left home to work as a nanny at the age of 13 and she says she always hated school and preferred being home, helping her mother with the farm and household. Life was not easy and most people could not even afford to daydream about being the next big newscaster.

Well, just give it a second thought.

You said he works and she takes care of the house. I always laugh when men say how great women have it, I wonder why they don’t quit their jobs and be homemakers especially now that women are getting good jobs? Men enjoy being with the children?
I hate to break it to you but 50 years ago we had electricity vacuum cleaners microwaves ovens refrigerators washing machines and dishwashers. We had cars .... I am talking about the onset of the feminist movement. That was in the 70s. Married women couldn’t even have their own credit card.
And I can’t believe that you are saying that the neonatal and maternal death rates are practically zero when the United States is practically the highest among industrialized countries. So rather than give credit to the good all days you can blame women again. After all that working so that’s why (sarcasm alert) Now that women are scientists and activists hopefully things will improve

I lied about my age I’m not 234 years old 236 years old I want it to appear younger

Your grandmother if born today I doubt she would want to work as a nanny at the age of 13. Young women today have higher aspirations .Women today can dream of being anything they want, something the generations before couldn’t. When I give my workshops I often say to young women how happy I am that they can take so much for granted, but I want a little bit of a thank you note

What are you trying to say about the draft card? I thought about it but you’re the one that made the statement

Who said anything about anyone having it great? My point was rather the opposite - Life was difficult and miserable.

I hate to break it to you, but the world is much older than 50 years.

    I am not American.

In what part of what post did I "give credit to the good ole days" and where in what post did I ever "blame women"? Stop making stuff up, it is getting really annoying.

    Is this English?

    Funi gurl.

Finally you get it! It is not as costly for modern women to have "high aspirations" as it was for women of the past.

    Ah, megalomania. Nice.

My point is that women did not get draft cards either.[/QUOTE]

How silly that you’re going back to the beginning of the country which is hundreds of years ago. You keep going back to that. Women are where they are going now because of the women’s movement not because of refrigerators and dishwashers. You act as though these things came into existence and liberated women and I keep trying to show you that they had all these “appliances“ 50 years ago but didn’t have the liberation that they have today
I guess megalomania to you is wanting women of this generation to know that things did not come easy, that that was before them for and they have to keep on doing that. Look at what’s happening with reproductive freedom being taken away from them. I still don’t know what your point is that women did not get the draft cards. And man did not get Tampax

Oh, history is silly to you?

I keep going back to it because you are grossly overrating the effects of Feminist protests in the 1960's.

No, megalomania to me is hosting a workshop and ask the female participants for a thank you note.

Who is stopping women from reproducing?

OK you’re playing games. I am talking about the second wave of the feminist movement and all the changes that happened and you are saying it’s because of refrigerators and dishwashers etc. if you are aware the second wave was in the 60s and 70s.
I am hardly overating the effects of the feminist movement. Changes that took place were tremendous and have amazing impact on women and men.
You may think it’s megalomania but I forgot that righties have no sense of humor or did you really think I was going to have them write a thank you note. Jeeez
Sorry the term reproductive freedom only means having babies to you. .
