    I am..
    I joined today.
    I'm a Conservative.
I get a vote now on the party but I can't vote yet until 3 months after joining, but I am a member as of today...
I'm British and became a member of a UK political party.

Are you a member of a political party?
    If so, what party?
    When did you join?
What country are you from/do you vote in?

I'm an independent voter. I don't belong to a political party. Neither major party appeals to me, or any of the minor parties.

I'm a conservative who doesn't agree with today's definition of "conservative".

    Haha, lucky me.... :-?

I used to be a floating voter, until Labour (the main opposition) proved themselves to be shamelessly anti corporation at the last election, so now I'm a Conservative.

I don't pretend to understand your country's party system. Or any of EU, for that matter (no offense, kudos to Brexit) Middle of the road here, slightly social liberal, fiscal conservative. I register Republican only so I can vote in primaries. I wish the Republicans would just cut the crap fighting senseless social issues including the war on drugs. The Democrats are deplorables. They've hitched their wagon to every nut job agenda they can possibly muster. They are shrill, violent, intolerant ranters unsurpassed. If you don't agree with them you are racist and misogynous. Never mind the fact that 95% of them don't know what a race is. They are globalist, apologists for anything non-Christian or non-Semitic. Their religion is the cult of anthropogenic global warming. There is no such thing as a middle of the road Democrat. They deserted camp and either went Libertarian or Independent.

Neither party. Vote for who I think is best for the country regardless of affiliation. Haven't voted for a Democrat in awhile however...

I just saw live on the news the same snot nosed little psychopath known as Owen Jones. that I saw on TV the other night
He's done Labour more harm than good because Owen Jones on TV ranted this week and inspired me to become a Conservative. Him and his party's manifesto.

There's a huge protest on Whitehall and it all made sense when I saw Owen Jones was the ring leader calling for another election or for the Prime Minister to quit.

He seems to forget we had an election 9 days ago.
    Talk about a sore loser.

So basically you used 25% of your reply to actually answer the question and the other 75% to go on a "I hate Democrats" useless rant.

He's from Britain. He needed an explanation, it's a forum. Now go find a safe space to not be offended in.

Both parties are just corporate shills and the democratic party especially really doesn't stand for anything real anymore. Whats worse is they have made it so obvious to everyone. So hopefully at least one of these two parties will die in the next 4 years, most likely the democrats. Maybe we will get an actual choice in the next election, but I'm still extremely pessimistic.

    Nope.

Made a big mistake with Nixon.

Made a bigger mistake with Carter.

Made a huge mistake with Reagan.

Then gave up on The Big 2 Parties and became unaffiliated/independent.

In the UK "conservative" means pro aristocracy anti labor.

If you are a British land owner with lots of passive rent income that makes sense.

If not then you are voting against yourself. Kinda' dumb then.

I am Democratic only by association, but identify as progressive. I don't believe anyone can truly be, "Independent," especially if they have a voting record of voting for one party or the other consistently down ballot.
I joined a couple year ago, when it looked like there was no hope in the Republican party.
I vote sensibly in the US.

    That's easy.

    I'm pro jobs.
Making it easier on the employer (not harder) to hire people, giving the people more job opportunities in the UK - rather than scaring employers away who may vacate to overseas, or having legislation that sends entire industries to the job centre.

I always voted Republican up until the 2016 election. No way would I vote for Trump and Clinton wasn't any better. I voted Libertarian and I now consider myself a Libertarian.

    Cheers,

When I was 18 I put myself down as a Libertarian. I don't know if that record still exists somewhere. The US. I tend to vote Republican, but not always.

If you only aspire to work for Starbucks or Mcdonalds on **** wages I can understand that, if you like seeing your taxes go to subsidising poorly paid jobs, I can understand that.

Taxes only subsidise welfare and nationalised things.
If McDonald's hate to pay the minimum wage, we'd get inflation.

If everyone got £10.00 per hour as a minimum, the pint of milk and the loaf of bread'll go up.

Britain is built on small businesses, the choice is not between/state/corporations/small business/self employed it is a question of getting the mix right and avoiding the abuse by state or corporation.

They'd have to raise their prices to pay for it, and they'd have Westminster bullying them like thugs about it too.
So what, people can still stay at home, not work, and do nothing for no one but take take take.
