President Reagan was an aggressive arms race president, but he would not dismiss a dialogue with potential enemies. Obama is a Nobel Prize "winner", but he seems very lethargic about active pursuit of peace and mutual understanding with Russia. This is a dead end road, given that China and India are joining the arms race path. Obama is floating like a cork, no imagination and no initiative. Just like Zbignev Brzezinski was instructing him what to do.

Whoever becomes the next President most likely will follow the same course.

Donald Trump would be very different. I think Bernie would certainly change the course. One danger, neither of them would be nominated by either of the two parties. Then, you are correct, the course will stay the same.

the president is just the puppet. the banks and arms industry dictate and decide what course of action america takes, so it accepted that perpetual wars will continue so long as the banks and arms industry run america.

We are the same people we were before we learned to farm and build cities. We had to compete with strangers for scarce resources. Arms races have been part of our culture since spears were the primary weapon of protection. Wars would continue, banks or no banks.
