Army Sees Sharp Decline in White Recruits The Army's recruiting of white soldiers has dropped significantly in the last half decade, according to internal data reviewed by Military.com, a decline that accounts for much of the service's historic recruitment slump that has become the subject of increasing concern for Army leadership and Capitol Hill. The shift in demographics for incoming recruits would be irrelevant to war planners, except it coincides with an overall shortfall of about 10,000 recruits for the Army in 2023 as the service missed its target of 65,000 new soldiers. That deficit is straining the force as it has ramped up its presence in the Pacific and Europe: A smaller Army is taking on a larger mission and training workload than during the peak of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan -- leading to soldiers being away from home now more than ever. I guess those DEI programs are really working.
I think white men have given up and are disappearing off the face of the Earth. Why do all the work and get none of the credit? Let someone else take their place. Somehow, they are surviving without a job and a paycheck, we think, as far as we know, and they might as well stay out of this sore economy since they have found a secret way to live.
Military.com thought it was a story that was worse publishing, and if the Pentagon is concerned about it, that seems to mean they think it's an issue. By your comment I take it that this is not a subject to be discussed, and isn't important in the least?
Military.com also published this story...they felt it was worth publishing. So I guess Donald Trump IS an issue. The role of the military in particular has come under scrutiny as former President Donald Trump runs to reclaim the White House and has laid out an aggressive agenda should he win. It includes potentially using the military in ways other presidents have not. That could mean invoking the Insurrection Act to send units to the border or patrol the streets of predominantly Democratic cities. Trump's rhetoric about top commanders also has raised concerns. While in office, Trump once referred to the military leaders in his administration as “my generals.” Earlier this year, he suggested that a former chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, retired Army Gen. I was really responding to your assertion that if it was published in military.com, it was worthy of discussion. As for the topic and article you posted, I'm not in the least concerned about the color or sexual preference or orientation or gender of military personnel. I would like to think that this would be - at the very least - a color blind issue.
Military.Com is a joke, and has no affiliation with the military in any way. It was founded by a photographer, who sold it to a telemarketing company about 20 years ago. And now it is owned by the Monster conglomerate. Most of us pay about as much attention to Military.Com as we do the various Military Times publications. Primarily for information about promotions, who retired, and who died. Other than that, it has largely been worthless for ages. And yes, I find topics like this as rather stupid, to be honest. Would they be making a big deal if black female recruiting was increased? Or homosexual Asian officers? Or if the number of Indians that joined had decreased? I find such nonsense is a big concern to politically minded civilians, but I could not care less about such things when I am serving with somebody.
I think they would be concerned. I think the Pentagon, and by that I mean uniformed officers, not just civilians, take those things very seriously. In fact the new Chairman of the JCS, Charles Q. Brown, has made diversity a top priority. Of course if you don't care for military.com you are likely to hate this one even more. You may not care if your fellow soldier is purple or green, but most assuredly the Defense Department does.
White men are a much larger pool of potential recruits than blacks are, so obviously it is important. The govt. discriminates heavily against white males in every employment category. So do universities, govt. contractors, and many private businesses, all devoted to filling quotas rather than merit based promotion and hiring. I'm finding it increasingly easy to find white contractors and small business operators, where before criminal illegal aliens had pushed a lot of legal citizens out of many construction professions. I even saw an entirely white roofing crew working on a house a couple of weeks ago. So yeah, they're dropping out and doing their own thing more and more. Many parents in career military families are also advising their white kids not to consider a military career these days. As we degenerate further into a 2nd and 3rd world model banana republic, this will only get worse.

Why does the skin color of a soldier matter? IMO, they are all one color. Everyone in the army is Green Everyone in the navy is blue. Etc Etc.
The number of Hispanic recruits has gone through the roof to 24%, and number of blacks has also increased. Practically all of them are white, but your article separates them. What is your complaint? Is it that Hispanics are not white enough? Hispanics more willing to serve than 'real whites'. Is that the problem?
