I'd appreciate any help and assistance :). I've been told that being a part of the Masonic Community is to build the Temple of your Soul, and a high quality character and I think that's really special, it's not done a lot and I think somehow if we could extend something like that to everyone it would be a much better world.

So why is it then that Masons are crucified, I've no idea.

Because they are the direct blood descendants of Jesus. They are the tribe of Judah even though there were no lions in europe, dont let that little fact blind your faith.

There are a whole host of reason, but as I don't have time right now I won't go into it.

Grand Lodge of Texas: GM - Walter Rogers

GLoT convenes Thursday, Dec05. MOSTest goes out of office Saturday. Close as I can recall, He and I sat for our first certificate exam same day, same table, '84.

It's gonna be freezing azz cold in Texas during the event. The auditorium at GLoT seats a couple of thousand or so but has NO heat. They say, 'when you get that many Masons in a room, you don't need a heater.'

Thanks, I'll update my Word doc.

LOL...nice. Just to make you feel old, I was born in '84. ;)

Stay warm, but I doubt you'll freeze. Sometimes there is a lot of hot-air around those meetings. Have fun.

I have a couple of questions that I'd like to ask; I'll ask one question at a time to give you less stress.

What degree are you in Freemasonry?

It depends on which body you are talking about. It's not so easy to base someone's position or rank, or commitment, simply by what their degree is.

    Wow, that's real impressive.

I've read about how Elijah Muhammad (leader of Nation of Islam 1934-1974(?)) said that Islam was practiced in high-level Freemasonry. Is that true?

My great great grandfather, great grandfather and grand father belonged to one of these groups . they al were apparently very high up in it and yet i do not see it's name anywhere on your diagram.

I'm the last of the family and have this trunk with vestments and various books, and some medals…some articles including a human bone with carvings on it , and thats all i will say, none of which i am able to show anyone.

when my grand father gave this to me he said when the time was right i would be approached…it never happened…

i,m thinking of donating this stuff to a museum but then the oath would be broken….i have no one to hand this trunk to..

i did make a solemn oath never to reveal any of this stuff…nor talk about it…to this day no one including my wife or daughter has ever seen this stuff...

You have already revealed too much champ...The exalted Grand Wizards of Mason past will soon be paying you a visit. You should immediately put on one of those double secret aprons spin around four times counterclockwise put the carved human bone halfway up your ass and beg for mercy.

He might have been erroneously referring to the Shrine (which I'm sure has some Arabic tone to its degree) as it used to require one to go through the Scottish Rite or York Rite before joining. Since 2000 you only need to be a Master Mason in good standing to join the Shrine.

There's a few groups that I don't have. There are also a few groups that Idaho hasn't recognized. Or it may be known as a different name.

    Interesting.

Hmmm...most Lodges will never approach someone. Once you're in the Lodge then you can be invited and approached by the various Masonic bodies.

If not to a museum then you could approach a local Lodge or the Grand Lodge he belonged to, to see if they would want it.

i don't know the lodge he belonged to.
the name on one of the books mentioned in it , i've googled without any result.

as for the symbols on a few of the vestments i can't find that either.

I don;t know why he said i would be approached..i was 26 at the time and am now 58…i figured maybe in my 30's someone would approach me, nothing.

sort of a weird thing to carry through life.

Also this might have meaning for you, there is a weapon..not a fire arm..thats all i will say. there are symbols found on it that are the same on the vestments and in all the books.

If you contact the Grand Lodge of whatever state, or in your case, province, then they may be able to help as they should have him on record.

Yeah, some of the orders you can't find too much on the web.

Without knowing any more I can't offer any advice, but I don't know where he was coming from. I wish you luck.

Hmmm...I may know what you are going at, but I'd have to see it although I don't want to make you violate your oaths.

Well, Thursday night marked my last meeting as Eminent Commander. This next week I'll hand it off to my 2nd-in-Command who will do a fantastic job.

Yesterday was a busy day. The morning started with me attending the Graduating Student Leaders Celebration & Breakfast at Boise State University and then the Winter Commencement ceremony. I was able to watch several of my friends to walk and receive their Bachelor degree.

Once finished I spent my day getting ready for my Lodge's installation. I was concerned as it started to snow and many of my guests had a distance to come. One of our Brothers cooked a delicious Prime Rib meal that was served by one of the local Bethels.

The Installation was well attended, even with the inclement weather, and I had the honor of being installed by a Brother who served as Master when I was Raised and he was my mentor. Tonight was an amazing night as I am the first Worshipful Master to be recycled in 98-years. My Installing Marshall was the Brother who preceded me in the line my first time around and currently serves as the Deputy Grand Master of the Grand Lodge AF&AM of Idaho. My Installing Chaplain was a good mentor of mine who is a Past Grand Master of Idaho.

I gave my speech and entered into the Presentation stage of night. This was a definite highlight of the night as my Senior Deacon approached me some weeks before with the idea that he wanted to propose to his girlfriend. I was very excited and agreed to take part in it all. At the end of all the presentations I had the Senior Deacon, the boyfriend, escort his girlfriend to the East where after a small speech I took the staff and allow the Brother to go on bended knee to propose to his girlfriend. She was so surprised as was her family who was in attendance. We ended the night with the opening of a Lodge of Tribute then heading to a local pub to have a few drinks.

I thank all of the Brethren for electing me to this honored station. It is a pleasure to preside over such a great Lodge and with a great corps of officers. I look forward to this next year and what surprises it brings into my life.

My Senior Warden took several pictures and once he has them uploaded I will update this post with them.

You need to be sponsored by another Freemason.

Apply to a local Lodge by finding a Lodge that is right for you and fill out a petition. There's an initiation fee which varies depending on the Lodge. It has to be read at one stated meeting then one month must go by before they can vote on it, and in that time they send a committee of Brothers to meet with you. Often I encourage them tot allow the family to ask as much as they want.

    OK...now tell him the TRUTH!!!

You really need to be sponsored or else a person will never become a member...UNLESS...you have something they want or are interested in.

False and don't call me a liar. The petitioning process varies with each jurisdiction, but in some you need two members of the Lodge to sign the petition. This is not however a sponsorship. One must join of his own free will and accord.

Sure....I never said anything about a person wanting to join of their own free will.

I am talking about the REALITY of how the vast majority of people become members and how and why they are selected.

Because that's not how you are selected as you inferred above. If wealth and family lineage was a factor, I would never have been allowed in, and I wouldn't have joined all the groups and invitational groups I am in.
