Arab League rebuffs Syrian bid to amend monitor plan

By KHALED YACOUB OWEIS | REUTERS

    Published: Nov 20, 2011 16:22 Updated: Nov 20, 2011 16:46

"AMMAN: The Arab League said on Sunday it had rebuffed a request by Damascus to amend plans for a 500-strong monitoring mission to Syria, after President Bashar Assad disregarded a deadline to halt violent repression of protesters."

...clearly it is time for a military intervention to remove this animal mass murderer of women and children.

Then a free syria might be able to join the civilized world - and the fascist thugs in iran will hopefully be next.

What doesn't Israel just do the heavy lifting for a change?

If we get involved in Syria, the world will criticize it for being a ploy involving oil or some other economic interest.

If we don't get involved, the world will criticize us for turning a blind eye to their oppression despite taking initiative in Libya.

I'd rather we be criticized for inaction than action. It's a lot cheaper.

If someone wants to "fix" Syria, they can do it themselves. Leave NATO out of this.

Agreed, let the Arabs handle their business. Assad has next to no support in the region. We don't need to create any friction with Russia anyways.

Well why not? The US has propped them up financially for 60 years and we are spending money and blood like a drunken sailor in Iraq and Afghanistan..

Isn't it time they did something?

Perhaps they could also take out Iran and give us a break?

Really, really, stupid post. Russia has been propping up syria for decades, they can expend blood and treasure.

Funny how fascist muslims scream at israel for attacking palestinians and allegedly being violent - but now you want them to attack a muslim country it has no relationship with?

Let the arabs take care of their own.

Let's put it this way , if the Zionist entity called "Israel" was a tru democracy and didnt continue stealing Palestinian lands , if "Israel" was'nt a racist Jewish state - then the political situation in the whole area would be considerably calmer.

I'm sure we will be able to get some guns to the protestors to fight back.

Meanwhile Saudi-Arabia can lead the charge against Syria -- they are the ones that have the most to gain in Syria anyways.

According to current available information - I agree, However , it would surprise me a bit if we later discover that US-British-French-Israeli + Co., Intelligence Operators - played a behind the screens part in $hit-stirrings in another Middle Eastern country .

Arab League governments are no different to our governments who've more than once demonstrated their indifference to their own civilian victims .

Try organizing a violent rebellion against the ruling elite in Washington/London/Paris and see how far you get .

I've read some articles which suggest that this precisely what has happened, for strategic purposes.
