What is the point of banning a weapon for the way it looks? With the exception of my revolver, I prefer polymer. It amazes me that taking a weapon I already own, changing the stock, and putting in larger capacity magazine makes it "military style." If I repaint my car and put in a new carburetor, it is still the same car. Likewise, Wolverine's two 10/22s are the same gun, just with different features. What about those features makes in ban-worthy? Nope. I thought so for a while too, but after having several discussions in the gay rights section, I can safely say that he is a man.

A couple of quick points: Here's a great description of Neo Conservatives. It is an actual, defined, political philosophy. Let's save time and go straight to the extreme here: Would I support an individual buying a nuclear warhead? There's a couple of problems I have with this scenario. 1) It contends that an individual would have the means and ability to create one. 2) It contends that those who have the scarce resources required (refined nuclear material from nuclear power plants) to build such a bomb would be willing to sell to said individual. 3) That this individual would have the ability and desire to use said weapon. I think all three points are rather absurd and extremely unlikely to occur. That said! If I were in such a position that I could legalize all guns while keeping nuke ownership banned, rather than exist in today's status quo - I would take such a compromise with no reservations. Back to the OP: Obviously I think gun ownership is not only a right, but I think one has a duty to arm oneself in preparation for any event.
