My guess is that you're not going to see any congressional protests about this one. This might not even be counted as a "mass shooting".

ABC, NBC, and CBS have nothing on this yet. Hmmm.... wonder why?

 

I heard mass shooting, teenagers, badly party and Alabama and it took microseconds to put the pieces together and realize why this isn’t national news and I read it here first.

 

Another mass shooting in Louisville. Sickening. But -- thoughts and prayers, the typical NRA response.

Of course, we also know that this thread wouldn't exist if the victims and perpetrators weren't assumed to be of a certain skin color. In fact, if you go to the yahoo link in the OP and read the comments, the racism in there is actually sickening, too. But, we all know, racists don't really exist and are just a figment of liberals' imagination....

 

The news coverage is more important than the incident, for some at least.

Topics on race, like institutional racism, white supremacy, and others are ok.

But racial discussions in the context of negative stories, when the victims and perpetrators are of a certain ethnicity is evidence of racism?

Interesting.

 

The drastic difference in news coverage based in ideological priorities is absolutley a problem.

mass shootings have become so common that when less than 10 people die it is not headline news

a couple of years ago the policy of giving the shooter ZERO focus was attempted

the thoughts were, these sick, attention craving, maniacs would not become famous for being a

One again...a tragic and all too common shooting occurs in the black community with black thugs possessing illegal firearms shoot innocent people and the first thing 'people' like you do is shriek about the NRA.

OF COURSE the left wants desperately to talk about the slave trade from 200 years ago. If you focus on the devastation of the black American community today, you have to address the FACT that the devastation occurs invariably in cities and communities that have been run by democrats for 6+decades.

 

OF COURSE it matters who is doing the shooting and where those 'daily' mass shootings occur.

Don't you find it at least a LITTLE ironic and a a LOT hypocritical, that when the mass shootings occur and involve a whit e perpetrator the media and guntrol people cant WAIT to trip over themselves and discuss the shooter...and if the victims are minorities the shooting instantly becomes a racist incident. But when the victims are minority and the perpetrators are minorities...nothing...crickets...oh...wait...AR 15s!!! and....and....the NRA!!!!!!

 

Forget black vs. white. Forget Democrat vs. Republican. Forget about offering "thoughts and prayers"

How about discussing ways this can be prevented in the future? Not "well that won't work", What WILL work?

How is it the United States is the ONLY industrialized nation that has this problem? What are other countries doing that we aren't?

I hear ya. The reality is that in order to stop this we HAVE to address the race issue...but not in the way it HAS been being addressed.

Think about this for a second. If this kind of thing routinely happened in white communities (or...and this is important...in MOST communities where there is a racial mixture of people and the shooters and victims were representative of a mixed race community) do you think this would be tolerated/ DO you think MOST communities would ignore the shooters, make excuses for the poor dears, and cry about the NRA/ HELL no...those communities would demand action and they wouldnt give a **** about what race who was.

There is your starting point. Want change? Demand change. rather than people peeing themselves over the number of people in prison of any particular race, demand LONGER prison sentences and build more prisons and throw those pieces of **** in prion LONG time...regardless of race. Demand change...demand economic change. Demand better housing. Participate in the process. And by damn stop blindly going to the polls and voting for people because you have a stupid ****ing letter next to your name.

 

I guarantee that such a take is Dead WRONG...

 

Want to address the problem, address the culture that spawns those shootings. Its not firearms. Its not the 170 million law abiding citizens that own firearms. Its not the NRA or GOA or NAAGA or any of the gun rights groups...conservative or liberal.

Address the culture. Address the problem. And stop voting for people that created and continue the problem.

 

FYI, most of the mass shootings are from people who legally owned guns. In addition, as the link has documented, these shootings happen everywhere, and your insistence that race be the main issue of the shootings is not even close to the issue.

 

It was probably gang related. The Alabama shooting, too. How bout the government start cracking down on the thugs and leave the rest of us alone?

 

Most mass shootings are gang related. It's highly unlikely that those shooters are legal gun owners.
