I already pointed that out, does not matter.

Typical of the anti-gun crowd, they really do have no idea what the issue is.

And hell, in a great many ways the more reasonable ones would probably support my stance. I do believe in mandatory gun sales through gun dealers with background checks, even private party.

However, I am sure that is where I part from most, as I also believe in draconian punishments to those that knowingly violate the law. Evade that by purchasing under the counter, ten years in jail without parole. Do a straw purchase, ten years minimum without parole. Lie on the ATF 4473, ten years in jail without parole. Use a gun in a crime, ten years plus without parole. Second offense for all of the above is doubled, 25 years. If there is a third, just freaking LWOP, they are beyond hope and will never change.

I also believe we should have a mandatory reporting system, just as we do with sex abusers. Every time I bring up people with known mental health problems that are a danger to themselves or others, people scream it can't be done because of privacy. Well, HIPAA does recognize that those who sexually or physically abuse others are not protected by HIPAA, and reporting is mandatory for the safety of others. But I find it almost Byzantine that it does not give the same consideration to those that are suicidal or homicidal. I am in no way saying gun owners should be forced to take mental health screenings, but if an individual is already under the care of a mental health expert and they determine that they are a significant danger to themselves or others that there should be a process to quickly remove any guns they have until they can be better evaluated and treated.

Nothing will stop the "lone individuals" who are not under care from going rogue. But I keep seeing time and time again people who are already mentally disturbed and under the care of mental health experts where they have even shown "grave concerns", yet nothing was done. And not even involving guns, but almost anything else. One needs go no farther than McSkillet to see that.

And no, the above is not a joke. Trevor James Heitmann was known on YouTube as "OG McSkillet", and was an 18 year old multi-millionaire from streaming for the video game Counter Strike and selling items in the game. And one of the things he bought himself was a $350k McLaren sports car. And when his mental health started to deteriorate, his parents tried to notify people including the police to no avail. In his mind he thought game mechanics were real and by driving at high speed on the wrong direction he could "clip" through reality. Which caused him to do things like drive 100 mph through school zones.

Nobody would intervene, even a trained mental health expert could not convince the police of the danger and they were told they could do nothing. They even tried to get him on a 5150 (California code for 72 hour hospitalization for mental health evaluation), and it was outright rejected. A few hours later he left the home in his McLaren and started driving at a high rate of speed in and around a school, trying to run over children. Then he went the wrong way on the freeway at over 100 miles an hour and killed two people.

To me, privacy is of much less importance than the protection of the public. I do own firearms, and believe that if I was ever determined to be a danger to myself or others they should be taken away. Because to borrow a phrase from the Constitution, my "personal rights" are not as important as the "General Welfare" if I am potentially dangerous. And it even goes as far as incarceration, if an individual can not stop harming others, then they should be locked up for life.

And this ignoring laws for political purposes like what happened in San Francisco and most of California has to stop. Refusing to even put people on trial because they might go to jail is insane behavior for a DA, and not something to be avoided because they do not believe in incarceration. That to me is as retarded as hiring a chief of police that does not believe in actually putting cops on the street and instead having them spend all their time in the station unless something happens. That works fine for firefighters, but not police.

I am a bit more reticent to violate privacy concerns . I also don't support private sales background checks at a federal level since it is unconstitutional

And once again, I am only talking about those that are already under the care of a mental health expert. The people that already have to make a report to the authorities if they discover the person is sexually or physically abusing somebody.

That is already a law, it should simply be expanded.

Actually it is not, or the states that do it already could not be doing it. But the Federal Government has other ways to make states comply.

Look no farther than the now mandatory driving age of 16 and drinking age of 21. I am old enough to remember getting my first drivers license at 14, and when in my home state I could by beer at 18. And in the same way, the Feds could not mandate it as it was a state issue. So they simply changed the law for various funding programs that stated that if the state did not increase the driving age to 16 and drinking age to 21 they would not see any more money from various programs. And needless to say, every state complied as they did not want to see the money cut off (most of the funding was highway related)

Hell, the first time I visited my dad in California I got pulled over because I looked so young. And the cop had a hard time believing that in Idaho we could indeed get our drivers license at 14. And when I moved in with him when I was 17 they actually tried to tell me I had to take the 4 months of drivers training before I could get my license. Thankfully my dad did step up for me, and said that they had to show how that was the law as he did not have to do that, or anybody else that he knew that came from another state. And I had already been driving legally for almost 3 years, going back to take driver ed was retarded.

But there are a ton of Federal programs to fund law enforcement. Just attach a rider into such a funding source that the state had say 2 years to enact such a law or the funding would be cut. And I bet most states would come into compliance in short order. There is nothing like threatening to withhold money to get most state governments working. And it was the exact same thing 3 decades ago with the license and drinking age. No threats or force other than they would lose out on Federal money for some programs.

Gender Dysphoria is be a mental disorder and should disqualify a person who suffers from it from legally owning a firearm.

Not all trans people have Gender Dysphoria and should all psychiatric conditions disqualify someone from owning a firearm, with no due process? ADHD?

Mainstream news doesn't cater to my interests, why aren't they showing a more diverse crowd doing it?

How are transgendered people dangerous? Numbers wise, they seem safer than clergy, cops, or Trump supporters

Doing what? Shooting? Yeah, anyone with two braincells to rub together can figure out that the vast majority of mass shooters are not trans.

They only just recently got access to kids, and are determined to make up for lost time. Apparently with Democrat support.

They'll soon have more victims than anyone in history.

That is a tiny proportion of "shoplifting", and is really more robbery than shoplifting.

One simply can not take a mob with shoplifting, they really are not the same thing at all. And the claim was most shoplifting was by black gangs.

Actually, they do. That is the very definition.

Identifying as a gender they are not biologically is the very definition of the condition.

    No. It isn't.

Again, not the definition. And what's the recommended treatment for gender dysphoria? (Let me guess, you guys don't want to answer that).

Not referencing shoplifting, I'm talking about when groups of teens descend on a business and ransack it, property destruction, theft and assault.

    It's a black thing.

Actually, that is the very definition.

    https://www.nhs.uk/conditions/gender-dysphoria/

    https://www.psychiatry.org/patients-families/gender-dysphoria/what-is-gender-dysphoria

    https://www.mayoclinic.org/diseases-conditions/gender-dysphoria/symptoms-causes/syc-20475255

Just because you do not like a definition does not mean it is not real. You can not simply reject or replace a definition just because you do not like it. And this is not about treatment, you are simply pissed because you do not like the definition of the condition.
