ATF Data Undercuts Claim Gun-Controlled Cities Get Guns from Surrounding States

    Snip: The ATF also discovered “an average age of 38 for those in possession of the firearms” and they noted that “the firearms were bought an average of 12 years before the crime or reason for the trace.”

    The above is what caught my eyes, given that some states have waiting periods, cooling off time or whatever they want to call it this reinforces my conclusion that waiting times are not as effective as states want you to believe with some state laws enacted as roadblocks or to discourage the citizen who wants to purchase. This with high cost of transfers work against our poor.

    This is a matter that has been known for quite some time. No matter the state, no matter what the local firearm-related restrictions amount to or otherwise supposedly do, the state still provides the majority of firearms found in the possession of prohibited individuals.

    Never mind the only way to legally transfer a gun across state lines is a FFL to FFL transfer, which requires a background check.
