In Kurdish region of Iraq Zaho there are events leaded by Kurdish Islamic Union, after Friday pray some massage saloons, pubs and shops of christians are burned damaged some people injured. Barzani arrived Zaho and ordered arrestings because of the events. Difficult job in a Region and to create a country from people who has different social statu, education beleives... In this kind of times leaders mostly prefer to collect people with a common enemy hope Barzani will not do it.

Couldn't find a healthy link in English, hope kurdish members of political forum will help.

yes i condemn the Islamic groups who do these things !!! .

this is no coincident . after KRG announced its full support for kurds in Syria for Autonomy on Thursday the next day on Friday the "Kurdish Islamic United party" or KIU (which is related to the Muslim brotherhood) was urged by MB to conduct violence in KRG which is a clear signal from them for KRG not to help out kurds in Syria !.

In my opinion they should be banned from politics , Islam is not to be mixed with politics , they should stay in mosques and prey to god , btw i am a secular Muslim myself .

I opened to learn about the events more, and really wondered the point of the Kurdish members. Because i know some Kurdish images here much more different than i know.

''Speacially friends who were talking about how nice tolerance is to Christians in KRG, actually i wonder point of people like you too who is aganist to Muslims, but if they are aganist Turkey next to them.''

These events are not a suprise for me on the other hand i hand Barzani is gave reaction and visited there urgently.

Erbil, December 03 (PNA) - In a statement today President Barzani condemned Friday evening’s disturbances in the town of Zakho, Dohuk province, where at the instigation of some Islamic clerics a group of young people went on the rampage and in an unlawful act set fire to a number of shops and hotels selling alcoholic beverages. The President stated that these acts of violence seemed to be premeditated.
Following these events, the headquarters of one of the Islamic parties in Zakho and Dohuk were set on fire by local mobs.

“I condemn both these unlawful acts. I call on the people of the Kurdistan Region to preserve our traditions of ethnic and religious co-existence. I have ordered the formation of a committee to look into these disturbances and bring to justice those responsible,” said the President in his statement.

This Topic is a bit older yet I can not let the people be misinformed and have to make some points clear.

Point 1. The attack was not specialized on Christians, actually most of the burned shops and massage Saloons belonged to Chinese and Yezidi and Sunni Kurds. the targets where the buildings not the people or their religion.

Point 2. most of the mob were teenagers, easy to manipulate by preachers.

point 3. These teenagers were told that in the massage Saloons prostitution was made.

point 4. As a Reaction pro government protesters attacked buildings of the "Islamic Union of Kurdistan".

point 5. This all happened just a few days after Barzani announced to help Syrian Kurds. The "Islamic Union of Kurdistan" is connected with Muslim Brotherhood in Syria.
    read here http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kurdistan_Islamic_Union

point 6. The Islamic Union of Kurdistan never gets above 5-10% of votes in local elections.

point 7 and most important. We are talking about some burned buildings. in 7 Years this has happened for the first time. No one was killed. This is not even a compare to what happens with Christians in the rest of Iraq or bordering Countries.
