Ouch. Chris Uhlmann deconstructs Trump with a clarity not often seen. Watch the video, it's emotionless, fair, and brutal.

Chris Uhlmann is seen as conservative in Australia, despite working for the ABC which some political conservatives describe as a left wing organzation and some political progressives describe as a right wing organisation.

I have to agree as well, he loves to be in the press whether positive or negative. He still even talks like he is campaigning using words like THE BEST, THE GREATEST over and over

Yes that report was delivered in typical SBS and ABC style, unlike the commercial channels without fanfare and to the point.

I particularly like how Uhlmann pointed out the irony of Trump saying he wants to preserve western values when he is in fact the biggest threat.

He is conservative. He stood for the ACT legislature almost 20 years ago for an avowedly conservative & pro-life party.

I actually saw the piece he delivered when it was first broadcast. It was just part of a report on the G20 meeting. There was no hint of 'look at me' about it, just a genuine assessment of someone who has been observing politicians up close for almost 3 decades.

Wow, how spot on was that? Excellent summation of what most of us know. And he couldn't be more right.

Yes I think Uhlman was spot on. Trump not only is incapable of playing the role of leader of the western world but he is uninterested in doing so.

He is lost but I think he is lost in more than this international setting. The lack of action on basic jobs such as filling the Ambassadorial roles currently empty, ability to forward promised initiatives all point to someone so far out of thier depth that they could not find footing if they tried

I've been saying since the election, Donnie Trump is infinitely a bigger threat to the U.S. than ISIS could ever be. Every day confirms that suspicion...

The biggest threat to the U.S. is the left. What American tradition have they not tried to destroy?

This "man" is the perfect example of an overly emotional pseudo intellectual liberal who truly believes the only way for the US to lead is to capitulate to global rule. He has no intellectual concept of what Trump has harnessed. Trump is a unapologetic and brash leader who refuses to put global feelings and fake science in front of the needs of the country he has been elected to rule. What's more amusing was the ignorance or just apathy this simpleton squawked about Trump's ego and lust for power as if no other leader in the EU has those cravings of their own. This liberalism intellectualism defines leadership as giving into a group think no matter how wrong they are or how much harm they inflict on their own people. Europe is being overrun by Muslims outproducing their native peoples with an incompatible lack of ethics on women's rights, the rights of homosexuals to even exist without imprisonment or death at the same time berating their own people who stand up for their own native culture, even jailing them for speaking out as if the ghost of Hitler reaches out to suppress their own people through anti free speech fascism. This kind of group think is how Europe will fall and this man is the prime example of how hatred for one's own heritage and welcoming of invaders who share next to no moral values of his own will doom the group think of Europe and Australia.

This man isn't to be celebrated. He is to be mocked for the stupidity and ignorance he has put on display believing that capitulation of one's nation, culture and people to others is how leadership is defined.

    Yup.

That said, trashing an IDIOTIC, MORONIC, IMBECILE (like Trump) is low-hanging fruit.

Whatever some no-name Aussie thinks, The POTUS is fulfilling his campaign promises every day. The 63 million Americans who voted for him must be thrilled with his performance thus far.

It's not a bit surprising. The divide was in place by election night.

GOP initiated the divide in 2009 when they publicly stated they would oppose every Obama initiative.

How much I wish the assessment wasn't 100% accurate.
This is MY country, and this reality show host is only looking for personal benefit and neither knows nor cares what is best for America, he is only concerned what benefits HIM.
    Very sad.

Laying blame could explain the Dem's 8 year losing streak. Which corresponds to the Obama years.

Every time I hear the term "pseudo intellectual" I have to wonder and do wonder both about the target of the term and the intellectual standing of the person applying the epithet.

Uhlman has a lot of respect as a reporter here in Australia and I think he is correct. Trump is out of his depth sidelined and struggling

Now do you have any evidence that Trump led any initiatives in relation to international co operation or made any new agreements at the g20?
