What's with Brady? Why doesn't he have any loyalty to the owner, coaches, and players, who helped him achieve his records? Why is he being so disrespectful to these folks? Tom, at least sign a one year contract. Don't go free agent and act like you will be willing to switch teams at the drop of a hat. Tom, how do you think your teammates feel about your decision? I have lost respect for you because of the way you have treated your team.
as a free agent he has every right to sit back and decide what's best. besides, if bill thinks tom is done, he will cut him loose in a heartbeat. hell of a coach, but truly cold blooded, so it's all fair.
Yep, that's the rules. But I wonder how Tom would feel if all his teammates did the same? He could lose some favorite receivers at the last minute. And even Bill has every right to say he might not return. Make for some unusual practices. But right now it's all about Tom and Tom is being cold blooded. I would like to hear the talk in the locker room when Tom was not present. He very well could have de-moralized a great collection of players. I don't make future predictions but next year it well may be possible the team will have lost it's edge.
I believe NE has 20 free agents including Brady, so they all have decisions to make, he just happens to be the highest profile one and of course much talk centers around the possibility of retirement. Personally I hope he retires as a Patriot, primarily because its not that often that someone has such a long and successful career with one team. I would prefer he goes out that way but maybe he does what Farve did and drags it out, who knows? Either way I'll still respect the hell out of what he has accomplished. But as I said, Bill is a ruthless cutthroat coach who tends to move on from or trade players once they have begun to decline, gets some negative feedback then two years later you see why he did it because that player is no longer successful. So I assume the first move is for Tom to talk to Bill and tell him what he wants, then Bill can tell him what HE wants and we will speculate later how that conversation went. If I was Bill I'd ask him to come back for 1 more season but again, Bill doesn't seem to have a soft spot for anyone, he's not going to pay him to suck (if that's his opinion) based on past performance like the lakers did with Kobe.
"A lightly regarded prospect coming out of college, Brady was selected by the New England Patriots with the 199th overall pick in the sixth round of 2000 NFL Draft and has since spent his entire 19-season career with the Patriots." Bill's job is to put the best players on the field. Tom's job is to be part of a team.
Brady may have already played one season too long. I hope he is not like so many pro athletes who try to compete too long as they age. Beware the young lions.
Hindsight is 20-20 and right now it 'looks' like Tom should have taken the same path as Gronk. Next season will be a true test for Tom if he is not on the bench.
Yeah. Anything is possible. He could end up back in NE or somewhere else. NE might work if he can talk Gronk from out of retirement.
Brady has a future, but it will be a short future in football, if he continues to play. Why the hell does he want all the drama? Going free agent really surprised me. I fear his career will not have a great ending.
