From Seriously Science comes this fun story about how these tiny creatures have learned to defend themselves from rattlesnakes and other predators. They attack rattlers and develop immunity to their venom and surround themselves with the scent of the snakes to scare other predators away! They've also got an amazing bite as my son discovered one day when he tried to pick one up. Enjoy the article @ http://blogs.discovermagazine.com/s...ke-perfume-scare-away-predators/#.U1-yk6J7_4E
They are pretty cool. My dad used to get them to come up and eat out of his hand. Wouldn't do it for anybody else though, so when we walked outside all these squirrels would come running, stop, and then tread off with the look of disappointment on their faces like they were saying, "Darn it, wrong one again."
