You asked (#25) about his purpose.
Really - what is irs real purpose then? Publish conspiracy theories?
I answered in his own words, as seemed appropriate given your question.
Don't complain when the question you asked gets answered.

A bit more about Anthony Watts:

Watts has been in the weather business both in front of, and behind the camera as an on-air television meteorologist since 1978, and currently does daily radio forecasts. He has created weather graphics presentation systems for television, specialized weather instrumentation, as well as co-authored peer-reviewed papers on climate issues. He operates the most viewed website in the world on climate, the award-winning website wattsupwiththat.com.

His work on climate issues, specifically the problems with temperature measurements via his surfacestations.org website, has been cited worldwide in books, studies and government reports.

His views on climate are pragmatic, believing that while indeed climate has changed in the last 100 years, it isn’t a crisis, and that many of the predictions and pronouncements have been oversold to the public, as evidenced by the fact that many of them have not come true since first being made.
    Anthony Watts
    Senior Fellow, The Heartland Institute

it's not a pure supply and demand driven system, if we have enough to export, do we need to import?

I say we do need to import, bring prices down and save our natural resources for the next generation

set the price locally vs globally

Yeah, most of their authors hold many of the same degrees, experience, and education as those you worship without question,

Prices depend on amounts refined and distributed which is somewhat loosely related to how much crude is being extracted, and how much is stored. Refinery capacity is critical - here in California we have "winter" and "summer" blends and switching refineries over can sometimes screw the pooch; particularly when scheduled maintenance causes problems as well. As I written current price for regular is averaging $5.20 -$5.25

There are other factors that this analysis totally ignores.

This doesn't show total world production, affects of action taken against Russia, changes in energy strategy by significant regions, inflation and undoubtedly other factors.

Also, Biden is NOT proposing to halt LNG exports. What he did was pause the proposed increase in exports.

I don't see any evidence of this claimed impact outside of the popular press.

The idea that the science of climatology, in all its related fields, is reading WUWT for technical content is ridiculous.

and when it's a resource everyone wants, they can raise it to what people will pay, Covid showed them people will pay more, so we pay more

US oil extraction is making little difference in the price of oil, as the price is based on world production and consumption.

To change the price of oil, the US would have to increase world supply by enough to change price - which isn't going to happen.

Also, like we saw in the last inflation spike, oil price is seriously affected by world events, as commodities markets are sensitive to risk.

Refinery capacity can affect the price of gasoline, but gasoline is also a world market commodity and local pricing is suspicious at best.

CalTrain is moving trains toward electricity.

No they don’t and it is not peer reviewed neither are the articles written with an academic rigor

I know I have the giggles over it. Bottom line is that people do not know what is meant by the term “academic standard” and think that is just about how to write to get more marks at uni. That is not it at all. It is about supporting every contention and statement TRUTHFULLY when writing. No cherry picking, no political hackery, no obvious bias and especially no conspiracy theories. Do not “cherry pick” but instead use quotes that support the tenor of the piece quoted. One of the common misinformation strategies I have seen used by WUWT and other blogs is to reference their own misleading material - it is a different ball game if an academic is building on research then it is acceptable but to simple cite your own articles published in blogs is…….

One of the most common errors in critical thinking we see constantly on this board is “impossible expectations”. Something will not solve the problem 100% in 5 minutes then it is no good

Why not - I mean it does no harm to try and teach critical thinking

Most folks you disagree with have plenty of experience with critical thinking.

The fact that you spend all your time criticizing formatting says you probably don't.

Not from what I have seen here but be aware that when academia is talking about “critical thinking” is it not the same as everyday use of the term. Your very response demonstrates that

Peer review is a scam; many peer reviewed papers are disproved later. Flat earth and geocentricism were peer reviewed.

Yeah, I'm quite familiar with your changes of definition. Standard operating procedure of the progressive side of politics. The whole "equity" = "equality" trick.

And of course it's limited to the self-proclaimed rarified air of academia.

Of course "critical thinking" is defined by you as something normal people like me can't grasp.

    Same old, same old.

    Good luck with that.

    You're going to need it.

. Do you? You seem to think it's a holy blessing that renders the reviewed document everlasting veracity and impregnable sanctity.
    Do you deny my assertion?
