The National's apparently haven't lost the seat of Orange since World War II. The Coalition have been in too long it seems. Why on earth do thes knobs get all cocky after extended periods in control. Baird was on a sure thing for decades but just can't control his kingly urges it seems. At what stage do these f..ken drongos realise that they aren't going to completely Lord it over us. We collectively put you in there you goose. Pull your head in and ensure your decisions are what the people want and not just you flexing your inner authoritarian urges.

Tell Turnbull we are coming after him too Mike. Just about had a gutful of Malcolm "sit on his hands and do nothing" Turnbull!

I'm reading it was local issues Probably was but I reckon people in NSW have had enough of Baird and his mates. Governing for the elites again, ignoring the little folk.

The thing is here, both sides of government are governing for the elite, hence why these marginal parties are taking hold, as there is swathes of voters feeling disenchanted with the major parties.

On one side we have Wind Sock Turnbull, who has about as much courage as the Scarecrow in Wizard of Oz, and his party of corporate kowtowers and right wing evangelists spreading their righteous view upon us all, the on the other side we have the Political Gigolo Bill Shorten and his party of café socialists, who is trying to sleep with every minority in the country, trying to impose their own version of righteousness and elitism upon anyone who will listen.

Meanwhile everyday Australian families struggle with the daily grind, and when they do turn on the Television, the guttersnipe media are pushing their version of righteousness down our throats. Each time making them feel they are rubbish for their views. No wonder politicians like Trump and Hanson are taking hold, it is because regardless of their politics they seem more sincere, more in touch with the everyday Australian and their daily battles and fears. When Clinton called, what in hindsight was a large portion of America, DEPLORABLES, she lost the election. Why? because they are not deplorables. Yes there is a small number of fools among them, but like Muslims( as the bleeding hearts keep telling us) they are generally good people with a different view on the world, it is just that a small minority amongst them make the entirety look bad.

Now Baird has a power issue. He has turned from a reasonable politician into a kowtower, looking for votes from areas he will never get them, and thus forgetting the solid base in which he came to power.

People are generally selfish as a whole. They love to see the big picture, only if it doesn't affect them. When people feel left behind or forgotten and disaffected, they look elsewhere to appease their needs. So when they see someone standing in front of them touching on the issues they have they are instantly drawn to them. They don't notice the fact these same people have no plan how to fix the problem, just that they are acknowledging it. For some that is enough.

Baird started sleeping with fringe voters, and ignored his bread and butter, now he will find out how bitter they can become.

Reading the commentary around the place I think you've nailed it slip. Now, can Labor capitalise (ahem) on this? Will Shorten be able to push back against the basket weavers? I bloody well hope so.

Yeah, I think Baird showed a strange side regarding the greyhound ban that simply caused people to question his honesty. I quite liked Mike Baird but it seems it's a case of another wolf in sheeps clothing.

    I am a shooter.

Bowerbird would be very happy, because we have no political prospects whatsoever. Because John "Ronald Reagan" Howard passed the gun laws, and the Liberals venerate him as some sort of God, there's no chance of the Liberals abolishing, reforming, or in anyway slowing the continued expansion of the Port Arthur laws.

And the ALP/GRNs sure as (*)(*)(*)(*) aren't going to.

So we're (*)(*)(*)(*)ed. Our only option is to break the law or experience liberty internationally.

That said, NSW, QLD and even to some extent VIC do a much better job than us in WA. You do not want to be a shooter in WA, trust me. You may as well march yourself into the ovens.

Pretty certain it wasn't all a vote for slowing up or repealing gun reform. Just a matter of timing and other local factors!
