This particular story isn't "current", per se, and there's no other place for it that I can see, so... here it is in "opinion":
    https://consumerist.com/2016/02/25/...rdraft-fees-into-11-16b-in-revenue-last-year/
    https://www.nerdwallet.com/blog/banking/banks-made-11-billion-overdraft-fees/

The almost unbelievable tragedy in this story is that so many people are so STOOPID that they obviously can't even do 4th-grade arithmetic! How can this many people be so deeply and repeatedly stupid as to amass bank overdraft fees totally ELEVEN BILLION DOLLARS in one year. How can anybody write so many HOT CHECKS and not even be aware of it?!

Think it got better after 2015? Wrong. Here's a more recent story from the end of 2016 showing that the stupidity isn't even close to ending: http://www.cnbc.com/2016/12/28/banks-are-raking-in-the-fees-thanks-to-your-overdrafts.html

We allow people this STOOPID and IRRESPONSIBLE to vote in this country? :spin:
We allow people this stupid and irresonsible to get on a cradle-to-grave Welfare "Gravy Train" and still be allowed to vote, too, so, why not? :spin:

These are just additional clear, undeniable signs of how and WHY the United States is going straight downhill in a junk car with no brakes....
