    Is the Ontario M9 still the bees knees or is there something better these days?

    Is going on an AR.

    The M14's... M16's.... and M4's I carried in the Army all had bayonet lugs. Good thing too... saved a lot of lives.

    I used to be a serious knife collector (got more than I can count) and the Ontario was the top of the line at the time. I remember seeing something that was touted as better and a lot more expensive but at this point I cannot recall and a quick search failed but the M9 was listed as the best in my two minute effort. I recall the earlier ones (M7 for example) and the Ontario M9 would be much better as a fighting knife. Ontario is a good brand and their versions of the USMC fighting and utility knife (commonly called Ka-bar) is one of the best and I own Case, Camillus (the original version prior to the 2007 bankruptcy), Ka-Bar, and Ontario ones. None are bad BTW of those listed.

    He shouldn't mess with the little guys, go for online sales. I get first dibs because it was my awesome idea for his successful online store experience.

    Tell him to get his people to contact my people, we can make this happen. :)

    @Turtledude

    The Phrobius looks solid, is it worth the price though? Cheapest I've found is $400.

    that's a lot of money when the Buck (who actually made a bunch of them for Phrobis under subcontract) and Ontario ones are much cheaper. I don't remember the original Phrobis being that much more expensive when they came out over 35 years ago. it appears the now high price is due to the original maker no longer making them
