Could be where I grew up, but I met a metric shitload of those promoting the Confederacy. They far outnumber the imaginary faction advocating unification with China.

 

• It wasn’t MAGIC, Don’t sell the Party short because it took great effort to amass a collection of religious zealots and small minded bigots to mirror the Southern Baptist and Confederacy of yore. No crickets.....we have major corporations who cozy up to China all the time. The NBA ,Apple, Nike etc. Those CEO's would sell us out in a heartbeat! Every Democrat I know (maybe even you too) are unabashedly Tik Tok fans. They don't care one iota about sharing their info with Communist China.....and Daniel, from the posts I've seen of yours in recent years, I don't exactly consider you an American patriot. But that's just my opinion. I believe China just plans to absorb us and a lot of Americans could care less about stopping it. They'll just wear their masks as told and lock down everything but the bars.

An American Patriot would be one that recognizes our Constitution as exceptional. They recognize property rights, free speech, and the right to maintain individual liberty in the face of the collective. They see the interests of the United States as paramount to other nations. Further more they look on with disdain the CCP buying up American farmland.
Now Alek I would love to see you spell out the contrasts of your own definition!

The electoral college is part of the Constitution. We are 50 states united. We have a lot of land mass. This college, in the wisdom of our Founding Fathers, insures the liberty of those states that do not have the population of , for instance, sea board states. Perhaps that is what you oppose and directly you favor the collective over individual liberty. That is un American.
On a side note: The Democrat Collectivists actually lost the national popular vote but maintained control of the Senate. Does that please you?

No States aren't people. They represent people. Just like Federal Government isn't people but only represents people only much farther removed.
I will try to educate you..... In Arizona, for hundreds of years if not thousands, the land was maintained through the indigenous people, and later on through ranchers. They oversaw the overgrowth and artificially burned when necessary. At the very least, they did not suppress fire. Now the Federal government, shortly after the beginning of the 20th century, in it's wisdom, over rode the common sense of the ranchers and loggers. They suppressed fire and banned logging. At times lame excuses were made such as "saving the spotted owl". Now here, when we have fires creep into the 100 year over growth, fire tops out destroying everything, costing lives and sterilizing the soil.

That is just one example of a removed Central Government lording over us all. The 50 states are petri dishes of experiment if you will. In Kalifornia, we have decades of experiment in Socialism. They have exercised their right as a state to vote that in. Now you see businesses and citizens leaving the state. It is a net loss. Yet if it were up to a "popular vote" nationally, they could exert their desire for a Socialistic Sanctuary State on all of us.

Some States Like Kalifornia relish the freedom to extricate the unborn. States are people and there are different cultures among us. Many of us value life at conception. Whether you disagree or not, our States get to decide according to the Constitution. It was never addressed there so the States decide.

I know you are not convinced and you and Alec probably both prefer a Moscow or CCP type Central government.

This is why many, like you and Alec, seem to me to be closer to CCP system system of governing rather than the Constitutional Republic of America.

 

No they don't, the people represent the people. And people like you seem to consider themselves more a citizen of your state than of America.

 

I'll try to make it easy for you. The State is made up of "people" or elected officials. They represent those who have elected them. The United States is a Republic. I think what you are referring to is a direct and absolute Democracy where nothing is done unless it is put to a vote. Give us an example of where that has ever existed??

When you say the "People Represent the People" just what in the hell are you talking about?? A collective? Individuals? Within a collective there will never be total agreement. Do you imagine their can be? Who holds the power? It's non sensical.

 

I'm not. But when it comes to the election of the POTUS there should be no EC.
