It's a 4,000 year old recipe that is still delicious.

yeah ... that's a real drag for us Americans.I remember the time
I went to Europe and spent a night in Kent. The next day I had a beer
    w/lunch.It was room temperature.Like Yuck.
Whihc is kinda ironic because some of the world's best Brewski
are from London and surrounding area.
Samuel Smith's standing out particularly well.

I no longer drink beer, just Red wine and Cognac.
But be forewarned about aged beer or vintage beers.
I saw a show on BBC { Top Gear } where one of the hosts travelled
Britain to taste vintage { some really old } Beers.
The host was warned about some of the vintages. That even half
a glass could knock you down. It's because you're probably drinking
Beer that has turned and may be slightly poisonous.Any beer that
is highly syrupy, like molasses and no fizz is bound to make one dizzy.
It's because the beer has turned. It is slightly poisonous.Due to any
number of factors.Exposure to light or bottle-conditioned yeasts that
    pick up infection.Stored too warm.
I remember back in the early 80's I got a 6 pack of The World's
Strongest Beer --- or - EKU 28 :omfg:
I had a buddy and my brother over,2 really big beer drinkers who thought they
could down any beer and it was silly to even speculate about not being able to
finish a mere bottle of beer.
It was almost impossible to drink 2 of em.I managed 1 and 1/2.
I had to mix it with a Lite beer.Even then it was hard to get down.
I remember what it tasted like.
It tasted like a strong ale that had some blakstrap molasses and
cold Espresso and Jack Daniels added. It poured like engine oil
    the color of butterscotch.
