Yep. They are not only fleeing because of the threat that China will take over their suppliers and facilities in Taiwan ,,, China's policy of intellectual property theft poses an existential threat to their businesses as China floods the world with cheap products based on stolen technology ,,, cheap because China didn't have to invest in research & development.
It is mostly done by machines which is why it costs an arm and a leg to build a new plant so they wouldn't save anything by moving. Anyway, I credit the companies not the politicians for the decisions.
