Well, gee - maybe all of us should hop in our time machines and travel back in time and see where your deflection takes us. Where did the world go running for help thirty years after it got itself into the second global crisis of the 20th Century? And while we continue to enjoy the good fortune of conversing in English, I'll ask you if you've ever heard the old adage about keeping all your eggs in one basket? I really don't care what other countries and their people do with themselves, reedak, but here in the States the CoronApocalypse has exposed our dangerous over-reliance on China, and since we're all about learning what History has to teach us we would be foolish to continue repeating our mistakes.
FYI, Trump instituted the travel ban against the country (China) whose government was giving the entire world and its health organizations bad information in January. It's amazing how Orange Man responds to the things he's ignoring...
But then nobody will be able to afford the goods being made. Fortunately (or maybe, unfortunately,) this is bs from the get-go. The jobs have been lost to automation, not foreign manufacturers
I'm calling BS on both those claims, Aleksander. American jobs have been lost to foreign manufacturers and this ordinary middle class American has been able afford American-made products for decades. For the most part, Americans buy cheap foreign products because they want to save money, not because they can't afford the same American-made product.
Yes.....I've said it before, Trump and Mike Pence engineered this virus late at night in their own secret laboratory in the basement of the White House. You like that story? Send a tingle up your leg kind of like "Russsian Collusion?" Run to the press with it. If they print it, you can believe it!
well worth a listen, numbers don't lie & timing is impeccable: https://www.facebook.com/video.php?v=10163288717110720
However it came to be that the Wuhan Chinese Virus came down upon the world, it is the present reality in the USA. Dealing with the what right here and now is far more important than the who, when, where, how and why of the origin. However, there can be no doubt at all that this is the Wuhan Hubei Chinese Virus. That is precisely what it is. It is nothing else but that. And you just got to love how US journalists take the side of Communist China against the USA.
I watched because this man has a Muslim name, and I was curious to see what his viewpoint might be. Wow, was I surprised. In partial answer to his question as to why Russia has so few cases of coronavirus, Russia closed it's lengthy border with China on January 30, one day before Trump imposed that travel ban on China, that is, on Jan. 31. All you had to do was watch a little TV and pay attention in mid-January to know this shetstorm was coming. For sure everybody should have caught on by the first week of February. The stupid arse media was unintentionally giving you the diagnosis.
I think a lot of us share Mahmoud's anger with the the Chinese government, our media, the fear-mongerers and the rest of the "hyenas" he was talking about and it all underscores what Michael Auslin said in his article cited in the OP: The world must fundamentally rethink its dependence on China It's okay to be angry - we should be angry - but it's not enough to be angry. We need to channel that energy into constructive channels and ACT so that we never go through this again. We need to light a fire up our representatives' asses to do what is within their power to ensure this never happens again. We need to urge businesses to do what they can to ensure that this never happens again. Each and every one of us needs to do what we can to ensure that this never happens again. One of the way we can do this is to hit the ChiComs where it hurts and that is in the wallet: BOYCOTT CHINESE PRODUCTS If and whenever we can, buy products that are made in America or elsewhere in the world. Before you purchase, stop and take a moment to find out where the item you are purchasing was made, and if you find out it was made in China look for a similar product that was made elsewhere. It's really not as difficult as some people will tell you - I've been doing it for years.
if he said that, then its wrong, but irony is china hasn't close air travel from US yet, they basically quarantine ppl fly over for 14 days. here is some interest podcast from CNN journalist in china, explain lesson we can learned its the podcast "lesson from china" interview CNN journalist there by CNN chief medical staff https://www.cnn.com/audio/podcasts/corona-virus

I might have to check out his book, too. Martha MacCallum interviewed him on her show last night and he definitely knows his stuff. He also writes for the Wall Street Journal and National Review.
Just like the LW says Americans won't work for low paying jobs illegals do, they would if those wages weren't artificially suppressed due to cheap labor. Is there anyone who now does not think China is our greatest threat, not Russia?
