How did those McCain and Romney administrations work out for you?

My state's GOP is more loyal to evangelicals than to Trump. It is likely why we flipped blue. They caucus to make sure religious idiots who pass the evangelical purity test get the bulk of the nominations.

Why does Sasse deserve pariah status? He's clear about voting his conscience and what is best for his constituents. He has vowed that he wouldn't vote along party lines if it goes against what he believes is right. Do you think he should put party ahead of his conscience and constituents?

Fair point, as they both lost, whereas Trump won once. But after all that’s happened over the last few years, especially few months, Trump is dead to all but his most die hard followers. That’s not a recipe for Republican success going forward.

I watched enough of his video to know that his conscience is lying to him. People like Sasse and Kasich act on their own self-righteousness and arrogance, not on behalf of their constituents or party.

If Sasse is acting on behalf of his constituents, why do his constituents keep trying to censure him?

Maybe not. At some point, Trumpism will be a spent force.
    I can't wait.

I've seen several state level Republican groups censuring those who voted to impeach Trump. What's funny is that if this were happening to Trump, the Trumpers would tell you they're punishing him because he was right. I suppose that's just as true with Sasse and the rest of the Congressmen and women who've since been censured.

It's a shame that Trump supporters had to sell their integrity in order to support the man.

His voting record does not back your claim up, not even one single bit.

It is the state GOP that is attempting to censure. Where is your evidence of his constituents looking for censure?

Well, I guess I assumed that the state GOP would be part of his constituency, would it not?

You sound more like a Trump hater to me, and sorry, but I don't think that makes you a "real" Republican; but instead, just someone who hates Trump. So tell me this, what do you think of the "Lincoln Project." Is that something you support?

When I say constituency, I am referring to citizens - not the local party.

Well, I would suspect that if the state GOP is trying to censure him, then quite a few of his constituents would want him censured as well. Pretty hard to separate the goose from the gander.

Without proof of that - hard to know. But I support someone who votes with their unbiased view of the case presented. Hell, even Mitch thinks Trump is guilty - he just didn't have the balls to vote what he knew to be correct.

Sass has always hated Trump. It has nothing to do with integrity.

He gets a lot of money from Wall street and resides in the swamp.

This makes no sense at all. A liberal does not vote conservatively almost 100% of the time in the Senate. A Liberal would have cast votes diametrically opposite to the votes that Ben Sasse cast.

That is the partisan view. People in congress don't necessarily vote their conscience. Mostly they vote in a manner that they think will enhance their chances for re-election. If you think these people always vote their conscience, I think you are wrong. We are talking about seriously corrupt people, after all.

Five Republicans ignored the facts and the Constitution to vote for Impeaching President Trump. That Impeachment will be overturned when the GOP gains control in 2022. These five Republicans will not be apart of that Senate. The GOP in their states will not back or fund their campaigns. That is a reality.

So, that's the best you have to offer, eh?

You have decided that Ben Sasse is suddenly a "liberal" because he does not worship your mangod Trump and so you are all mad.

    Ok, got it.

    Carry on.

I am a never TRumper, no doubt. I am a life long republican.
I support the original intent of the Lincoln Project.

His constituents aren’t trying to censure him but rather delivered him a record election victory this cycle.

His short-sighted State Party keeps trying to censure him.

Now do you understand the issue in Nebraska? The State Party does not represent the will of it’s constituency—it’s people.

Nebraska isn’t the only state where this problem is occurring.

Well... they may sit back in DC but they can't do that in places like Seattle, Portland, and other blue cities. I'll say this much for your internecine battles, they're lively and fun to watch when the fires are being lit ;)
