Rand Paul Slams Benghazi “Cover Your Ass” Report

"They will continue to cover up. I will continue to seek the truth"

    by Steve Watson | Infowars.com | December 1, 2014
Kentucky Senator Rand Paul has issued a blistering response to the House Benghazi report released late Friday, on Thanksgiving weekend, which exonerated anyone from blame for the 2012 terrorist attack on the US consulate in Libya.

The report, compiled by the House Intelligence Committee concluded that “There was no intelligence failure prior to the attacks,” prompting Paul to fire back “This one sentence tells us how seriously we should take this report.”

“Benghazi was the definition of an intelligence failure.” The Senator said, adding “It was, in fact, one of the worst intelligence failures in our history, a strategic blunder that resulted in the murder of a U.S. Ambassador and three other Americans.”

Paul pointed a finger at the Obama administration and singled out Hillary Clinton, explaining that no one in their right mind has ever disputed there were intelligence failings, until now.

“It might be time to rename the House ‘Intelligence’ Committee.” Paul wrote in an op-ed for Breitbart.

The Senator reminds readers that there are scores of unanswered questions, and that sweeping them all under the rug or covering them up with talking points, as the administration has done, is unacceptable. Paul also countered an AP report debunking questions over Benghazi as “hinting at dark conspiracies.”

    Paul wrote:

Three CIA security members have said their team was intentionally delayed by the administration in conducting a rescue effort. Are they being untruthful, or is this report perhaps not telling the full story? Multiple highly-respected news outlets reported on arms possibly being smuggled from Libya to Syria, before and after the attacks in Benghazi. Were all these stories fabricated? Or did they contain some useful or pertinent information related to this investigation?

“Remember, this is the same administration that called the investigation into the IRS scandal a product of a ‘conspiracy theory’.” Paul added, directly calling the government’s actions on Benghazi a “cover up”.

Dubbing the House report a CYA (Cover Your Ass) action, the Senator vowed to continue to “seek the truth” on the issue, declaring that “Obama officials have used smoke and mirrors at every opportunity to evade blame.”

I've not been a huge Rand Paul fan but have to agree with him. Something just does not pass the smell test.

I can't wait to pull the lever for Rand Paul. He's completely right, by the way. This is a white wash job by the CIA's best buddy in the House...Mike Rogers.
Just one small for instance: Leon Panetta has admitted that FAST terrorist response teams were quickly rounded and up and moved to Libya when Benghazi was under assault...and sent to Tripoli where they sat on their butts and twiddled their thumbs while our facility in Benghazi was burned down.

Nothing to see says the House Select Committee on Intelligence...b.s. says Rand Paul.
