When I was a child my parents told me that fascists were not good people and did a lot of terrible things.
    Were my parents wrong?

Did your parents tell you to assault people you believe are fascists?

I agree that violence is wrong on both sides.
I still have a strong distaste for fascists.

Did they tell you that anti-Marxists were bad? Did they tell you that resorting to violence to get what you want was bad?

No they weren't. I have no problem with people expressing their opposition of speech they find offensive. ANTIFA violence crosses the line.

I'm betting you haven't ever seen a real fascist, I haven't. Its simple a label so Antifa can use to forcibly suppress opposition and criticism, regimenting all industry, commerce, etc., and emphasizing an aggressive nationalism... oh wait they don't do that, that's a definition of a facist. lol. Antifa is more commie where there's no room for speech outside of their heads and they'll label and beat anyone who disagrees. I find it rather funny none of them big bad Antifa warriors never come south, they would get the ever living **** beat out of them by all races trying to burn a southern city.

Nope, your parents were not wrong. However, these cosplay sloganeers aren't nazis or fascists, not close. They have no power, their voice doesn't carry and they are marginalized to the damp crevices of human existence.

Compare and contrast 1930's nazis in Germany. Those were nazis! Ultra violent! In reading the history and watching the news reels they looked, acted and spoke nothing like our cosplay idiots. Frankly they acted like todays antifa on IV steroids and Adderall.

Were real nazis to descend on a Charlottesville like 'protest', our wannabe nazis would be overrun and the antifa would all be killed wholesale.

    Let's talk reality.

Cmon give them some credit they made a strategic decision. So says Berkley's Chief of Police. It was strategic to prevent more violence.

Berkeley police chief Andrew Greenwood defended how police handled the protest, saying they made a strategic decision to let the anarchists enter to avoid more violence.

Greenwood said "the potential use of force became very problematic" given the thousands of peaceful protesters in the park. Once anarchists arrived, it was clear there would not be dueling protests between left and right so he ordered his officers out of the park and allowed the anarchists to march in.

There was "no need for a confrontation over a grass patch," Greenwood said.

Among those assaulted was Joey Gibson, the leader of the Patriot Prayer group, which canceled a Saturday rally and was then prevented from holding a news conference when authorities closed off the public square Gibson planned to use. Gibson has denounced racism and said he launched Patriot Prayer after several supporters of President Donald Trump were beaten at a Trump campaign stop in San Jose, California, last year. Authorities nonetheless feared the group's event could attract white nationalists, as it has in the past.

After the anarchists spotted Gibson at the Berkeley park, they pepper-sprayed him and chased him out as he backed away with his hands held in the air. Gibson rushed behind a line of police wearing riot gear, who set off a smoke bomb to drive away the anarchists.

Separately, groups of hooded, black-clad protesters attacked at least four other men in or near the park, kicking and punching them until the assaults were stopped by police. The assaults were witnessed by an Associated Press reporter......snip~

So we let the Antifadas in to stop more violence. [IMG]

    OK, fair enough.
I still think even the so called "wannabe nazis" need to be set straight. by peaceful means.

That's the thing everybody thinks that! Most reasonable people also think the Wacko Antifa also needs to be shut down, it's not one sided. Violence is violence don't get sucked into the identity politics either side pushes.

The glaring problem is that probably 60% of this country doesn't even know what Antifa is and the violence they advocate. The mainstream media is doing NOTHING to educate, the usual suspects gloss that over to vilify anything that disputes their leftist narrative.

    Yes I agree.
No need for violence even if you are convinced that you are on the right side of history.

They have been set straight, nobody listens to them. The media and many on the left have just used these glorified trick-or-treaters as props for their faux morality play.

It's theater, political theater. "Break a leg", and some have.

They have held rallies every year. They have been ignored every year. They are a very marginalized and small group. The only difference between then and this year is the racism fomented by the media and those that want to pin the racism label on anyone and everyone that they disagree with.

I think the worm has turned. A quick trip around the globes news sources yesterday showed a marked difference in coverage especially in Europe. Antifa's glory days are nearing an end.

Generally the radical left wing violence of the 60's did not appeal to the majority of regular Americans and the radical left wing violence of today will not either. The difference right now has been the promotion of the radical left wing by some outlets and the complete lack of coverage by the establishment media. As more violence is racked up they will have to cover it but so far the coverage has been tepid or trying to blame it on Trump or others.

History has already judged Nazi's and white supremacist, 99.9% of the people are on the right side vs those idiots. The media and Antifa is actually opening this box and allowing the wackos out, very sad. If the media nor Antifa was at one of the Nazi rallies, no one would go or care.

The left would accuse Sheriff Joe of profiling and a federal judge would issue a court order for Sheriff Joe not to arrest anyone wearing black and wearing a bandanna hiding their face.

Perhaps your unfamiliar with the intolerance, the violence then of Antifa. I would agree with your parents. WWII was fought over defeating fascism. Unfortunately, it didn't go far enough to destroy the Soviet Union. And remember, Nazis and Communists are just two sides of the same coin of economic collectivist/fascist.

No, your parents were right. So if you know this, why do you continue to support Antifa?

Ignoring them will never make them go away.
I totally support calling them out and exposing them in a peaceful manner.
That way the public can see them for what they are.
