Immediately prior to her being struck, and afterwards it was quite visible around her neck as well. It's pretty obvious she had chosen sides, and was taking an active part...she was attacking someone else when she was struck.

Was that not a scarf? In the video one can easily see that nearly everyone present is dressed in a manner that is appropriate for cold weather, including coats, scarves, and knitted caps, and it is easy to see the freezing breath of those present.
