Oh, right. He only did that for people on Medicare. Most other people didn't see it.

No he didn't, he wants to give Medicare more leverage to negotiate drug costs.

Just another example of RW false accusations.

Well, I heard it from Biden's own words. Perhaps it was another lie from Biden???

Or perhaps not... (Do you not want lower healthcare costs?)

FACT SHEET: President Biden Takes New Steps to Lower Prescription Drug and Health Care Costs, Expand Access to Health Care, and Protect Consumers
And, this is not the only area that Biden wants to control costs. And he's spoken about his desire to lower costs on other things as well. Or, do you still consider this a RW lie???

The Biden-Harris Inflation Plan: Lowering Costs and Lowering the Deficit
    Yeah, right-wing disinformation, sure. ;)

Making plans for lowering prices is not price controls !!!!
Nearly every POTUS has addressed this issue especially with seniors for decades !!!!

How did those price controls workout for Nixon and Carter?

You do know it was deflation that caused the Great Depression, is that what you want?

How about the government operating within its means and restricting itself to what the Constitution authorizes it to do?

I don't know. It was before my time on Earth.

Was it really deflation that caused the Great Depression? Or was it a high-stakes loss from gambling with the stock market with money they didn't have? There's a name for it, but I forgot what it is. Since it was a stock market crash, I would say that deflation got a bad but misplaced reputation. So, yes, I do want to try deflation out again with a good economy just to be sure we have the correct facts.
A nice sounding but impossible position. The situation is that we have a crisis almost every day and the government needs to pay for it. Cuts are out of the question, but there's still room for tax increases. ;)

Bernie Sanders is a retard appealing to the lowest common denominator of moronic parasites in society who don't understand basic math or have a work ethic to speak of.

But considering his privileged life where he's never had to work a real day and his life, it's not surprising.

Well WW2 was before my time and I know a lot about it. The Great Depression was before my time and I know a lot about it. The Civil War was before my time and I know a lot about it.

Here you are advocating an economic policy that has been tried before in this country. Don't ya think it would you some good to research it a little before you state your support?

    Yes.

The stock market collapse was a result of the deflated currency due to federal monetary policy.

What advantage do you see in deflating our currency, what do you think that will do to everyone's investments and savings?

Through wage and price controls. Again we have a history with both and the results were the same a HUGH downturn into recession and depression and then with wage and price controls ROARING inflation once you try to lift them.

Are you asserting every dollar the government spends is to address some crisis? That's folly. Why is government twice as expensive as it was a decade ago when all THAT spending was supposed to fix all the problems that necessitated it? The Great Society was supposed to end poverty and that would bring down the cost of welfare and support payments. How did that work out? Government grants and spending on higher education would create higher earning citizens and bring down those cost. How did that work out? Obamacare would bring down everyone's medical cost. How did that work out?

Tell me how high should the government be allowed to tax the citizens? How much more are you willing to pay?

Well, the way we're going, to quote a common saying: "a dollar doesn't buy as much as it used to." But bring in deflation and the reverse happens. A dollar buys more than it used to. It's a stronger dollar.
Domestic and foreign problems have been happening non-stop for just about all of this century and the last. Do I have to list them all out? Not only did the government have to pay for them non-stop, but today we also have to pay interest on the debt we've accumulated from when we had to pay for our problems. So the government has to do more with less. And the problems keep popping up.
As a self-employed person, I pay taxes every year without getting a refund at tax time. I pay the equivalent of both the business side and the personal taxes at the same time.

Now, as a disabled poor person, I get that same money back immediately through welfare benefits, but the main point is that people could pay more taxes and then let the chips fall as they may.

    And a Great Depression?

And every year you guys want MORE spending to fix the problems and then come back and say the problems are even WORSE, you make a circular argument. And then all your porposals are anti-grow and anti-capital which will further drive us into another Great Depression with not jobs and no money.

ROFL as a self-employed and as an employee I SPECIFICALLY planned my finances so at tax time I paid just enough to not get penalized for not enough withholding. I NEVER wanted a refund. I do so now with my SS not having anything withheld and I just pay it which I will shortly do. Why do you think getting a refund at tax time is a good thing it only shows bad planning by the taxpayer. What point are you trying to make here?

I asked you how much MORE are you willing pay and can you afford to hire more people to pay for those lost worker hours you will still be paying for if Sanders gets his way? You got that in your labor budget this year?

Can you make up your mind which you will be

    or

You can't be both so pick which you are going to say you are.

It was almost ten years ago now that I was researching economic theories for some reason. It was then that I read that many of the economic theories that are go-to theories applied to today's problems have never actually been tested in the real world before. It makes me wonder whether economic theories have any sound reasoning in them at all.

Like they predicted that we'd be in recession now with Fed monetary policy of high interest rates. Fortunately the economy is not in a recession, or a rough landing. The economy is booming and going strong.

Whether it was the Nazis or communists of yesteryear, or the Russias and Irans today, America has had to do more than the minimum of their constitutional duty to maintain a free and fair society here in America and around the world. Military, black ops, and diplomacy. That's the foreign policy that was needed and still needs that funding to this day.

Then there's the domestic policy crises. From the civil rights movements and economic downturns to today's crises resulting from out of control cost of living increases, the government needs to balance a free market, where anything goes, with today's new regulations, price controls, and forgiving debt. The government pays for that, but there needs to be a system change to fix the problems in society rather than just fixing the symptoms. But between here and there are unfair compensation for the ills of society.

I hear that most people get refunds at tax time. It's because the government over-taxes them (and their employers) during the year as they work for a paycheck, and from what I understand, they get a refund at tax time because the government pays them back. That said I don't know. I'm a self-employed person who has not had a simple W2 form in over ten years. My tax situation is very complicated.

It's a common misconception that someone can't work and collect disability benefits at the same time. The reality is that the Social Security Agency does have a program that allows a disabled person to work and still collect disability benefits at the same time. It's called the Ticket to Work program. So basically, anyone can try to work and keep the SSA informed by reporting that work in detail. And SSA will examine it and decide whether that work is considered substantial gainful activity or not. If someone gets in any nine months of substantial gainful activity in a three to five year lookback period, then they can get off benefits and continue to work. It's not a secret, this information is freely available to anyone to look up.

And the FEDhas yet to take the measure to attack inflation which is back up to abiut 4% again and the resilence of our markets and business inspite of the Biden inflationary and anti-business and growth policies.

Yes defense and national security is our HIGHEST spending priority and the top function of the government but that is being curtailed by and more unauthorized political vote buying spending.

It is not the function of the government to shape society or fix it or forgive personal debt, and ensure some equity to you. Our country operates best with the most freedom and liberty in our markets and economy and we are all free to choose on our own.

You are only taxed at the end of the year when they are due. That is merely withholding some of your money and basically a free loan to the government. There is no requirement you ever withold especially if it is goes wages amd salary. Proper tax planning is paying a little on April 15th getting a HUGE refund is NOT a goodies thing.

No more or less than dohers. A few years back I still played music professionally on top of my other career with allies those expenses and depreciations and laying others etc etc etc.

Didn't say one can't do both but that is not what you said.
