Bernie Sanders is blabbering outside the Supreme Court today wanting student loan debt forgiven so that those with college educated jobs will be wealthier while the poorer with no college loans will be no better off, thereby increasing the wealth gap between the richer and the poorer. Why is Bernie championing for those with better, higher paying jobs? Forgiving student loan debt literally helps those with higher paying jobs while doing absolutely nothing for the poorer with no college education and lower paying jobs. It will also increase the number of people being better off while the poor are still right where they were before. When will his followers see that Progressive policies contribute to wealth inequality?

Forgiving student loans -- What about the people who paid off their loans? What about the people who have a loan on a house? What about the people who have a loan on a vehicle? What about the people who have a loan to start a business? What about the people who have a loan to pay off a medical bill? Why should the people borrowing money to attend college be treated special? You sign on the dotted line and walk away with the funds then it's up to you to figure out how to pay the loan back.
Biden is attempting to buy the vote of a certain group of people. Tonight on the news the statements of some of the Supreme Court justices was reported. The conservative judges asked good questions. The liberal judge's statement sounded like a 13-year-old teeny bopper.

Why do you hate people who took out college loans?

There is a FIX. All blue collar workers should triple their prices! Now that they have all that loan money they can pay more when they need REAL work done. FYI, I'm a desk jockey and I don't consider it "real" work. Its too bad the left doesn't respect blue collar workers more. They will be running the world when the apocalypse happens

Why do you hate young people who take out business loans instead of taking out college loans? You put the debt of others on them.

Well Socialistic minded people say just print more money but those with a brain know that incurs debt paid by citizens and future citizens. It also makes tuition more unaffordable than it already is.

They hate people who didn't attend college because the people who didn't attend college weren't given the proper dosage of neocommunist indoctrination if they didn't attend college.

Of course it will just as if the Biden administration announced that they would pay off everyone's care loans tomorrow, car dealers would immediately start raising their prices. Just as we have seen in the history of college funding, the more money the government pours in the higher the tuitions go.

Just read a story about a woman who makes $125,000 a year crying about $10,000 she owes and how everyone else should pay it off for her. WHAT? Take just 3% of your income for the next 3 years and pay it off.

There’s no hate. It’s a matter of fairness. Why should the present group who have taken out college loans be forgiven when those who have in the past taken out college loans and paid them off not be compensated. How about those who take out college loans in the future? They won’t be forgiven.

The fact is forgiving those who have taken out college loans today isn’t fair to those who have taken out college loans in the past or will take them out in the future. It’s plain discrimination. What about other types of loans, is it fair to forgive only one type, but not other types of loans? I think not.

I think when it comes to forgiveness of loans, that forgiveness should cut across the board and not be limited to a special chosen few or just one type of loan. Why do you think you’re better than anyone else whoever borrowed money to have your loan forgiven? Better than those who borrowed to buy a car or a home or for medical reasons or another reason, but better than those who borrowed for college in the past and paid their loan off or those who will borrow for college in the future and have to pay their loan back? Why are you so privileged or have a privilege way above every other American?

There is nothing about hating; it’s about fairness. Why should people with higher educations get MORE subsidies from the government. Why should those who were honest and paid their debts get played like chumps? Why should those who never went to college have to pay off the debts for those who did? Why should people who got advanced degrees, which qualifies many of them to get high paying jobs, like doctors and lawyers, get more handouts from the government?

Biden is buying votes with public money and keeping a promise to AOC and the Squad. They have been complaining about Biden’s lack of action on student loans since he took office.

Student loan forgiveness is nothing more than more attempts by the left to buy votes from useless idiots.

The money to fund this just appears about of thin air?

Yes yes. Let's have an actual discussion on the economic impacts of this plan.

Want to without running away from the conversation midway through?

Why is college so expensive as it is?

Let's hear your logic then I will tell you why it is.

Yet another thread with grown "adults" accusing each side of "hating" each other. And here I thought grown adults were supposed to grow past the grade school level thinking.

What a stupid question! But it reminded me of the Mr. Roberts movie. The Captain: "You're a smart boy, Roberts. But I know how to take care of smart boys. I hate your guts, you smart college guys!"
James Cagney would not want to pay off college loans. But back then most of the movie actors were republicans who served their country in the armed forces. Unlike the liberal actors of today, especially Hanoi Jane Fonda.

Wouldn’t it be pretty awesome if the United States had a better educated work force? It would probably make us more competitive internationally.

With the cost of tuition and student loans being such a massive barrier for entry, wouldn’t it make sense to make school more accessible?
