http://www.nbcnews.com/news/latino/actor-comedian-george-lopez-endorses-bernie-sanders-n478606 This could be just what he needs to boost minority numbers.
Well, Hispanics have a knack for picking the best politicians which is why predominately Hispanic nations are so 'functional' and 'developed'. Find out who they endorse and vote the opposite. They like Sanders because he promises free everything. That anyone finds a story in Hispanics endorsing Sanders is telling.
Yeah, people who understand that life isnt free. This nation needs more of them, and less of the entitlement mentalities..no matter what their ethnicity is.
Thats why 2 of the major leading candidates are Latino, and 1 Black man. While the Democrates have an old white guy, and White trash royalty in HIllary. Face it the GOP has no problem with attracting diverse support, difference is that the Liberals get the support of more vocal and active members of those communities...you know the ones that are unemployed lol
Anybody can put a token up. Look at the actual support by minorities though, there is next to none. And with the rise of Trump those numbers are retreating even further. Really? Is that why Rand Paul, the only GOP candidate to talk about reaching out to the black and latino communities (and actually do it), is polling at 2%? Is that why Republican rallies are an endless sea of white? George Lopez is far from unemployed.
Conjecture at best, they are not token as they are accomplished candidates not rent is too high side shows.
Accomplished candidates? Are you kidding me? Carson has never held a political seat in his life, and Rubio is a junior Senator with his only other political position being a seat on a state legislature.
Rather racist on your part. Moreover your message of "handouts" is typical of a society that is attempting to keep a class of people "in their place". Working for the betterment of all mankind is a common core value of humanity.
funny, I read the title and assumed you meant some major Latino organization endorsed Bernie. but it turns out, it was just some silly comic. LOL!!!!
Like Obama? Too damn easy with you liberals... logic and the left are not friends. - - - Updated - - - Betterment of the nation is all that matters, the globalist hogwash is getting old real fast. I am an American, the rest of the world and its people only matter as far as they affect my nation.
Well once Trump is done deporting all of the illegals all that will be left will be George Lopez and Bernie (an old white guy)!
\ I might be getting older, I am well-educated, have been around the world, and could still give you a run for your money. I used to be one of you oh-so-compassionate, inclusive, and wise liberals until I opened my eyes, and my mind, and realized that the Bernie Sanders of the world have been promising the world to everyone, but still haven't delivered. It is all a lie, and always has been. As far as "old white people in the GOP", both of my sons, their wives, their friends, their in-laws are all conservatives. Don't fool yourself in thinking that we are all old and decrepit. And as mentioned before, I'm pretty sure I could give any punkass liberal a run for their money.
Obama was an inexperienced candidate too. And it has affected the way he runs this country in a negative way. - - - Updated - - - He's not offering any trillions in free sh*t. Nothing he has proposed is free. Nothing, period, is free. - - - Updated - - - George Lopez is pretty influential in the Latino community.
Not usually, but Bernie has some trouble (less so than Republicans, but still more than Hillary) when it comes to Latino voters and George Lopez is a very influential member of the Latino community. I think this endorsement might help him win more votes from that demographic. That's why this particular endorsement does mean something.
Yet you don't characterize him as a token like you do with Rubio and Cruz. Double standard or lack of logic, pick one.
To an extent, he was a token. And a quite successful one given that it was his high number of black votes that won him the election. I don't recall ever saying otherwise. Both parties have, at one time or another, been guilty of using racial minorities to get votes. One of many reasons I don't belong to either party.
Yet you characterized the Republican party as out of touch and less diverse. So if Obama was a token, then both parties would fit into that equation. Yet the facts are these, it is the Right that has the most diverse group of candidates. It is also a fact that people who are conservative and thus more individualistic would not be as loud and visible as the base of the Left, thus the idea of the silent majority. Perhaps there are groups that are so reliant on the leftist welfare tit that it is almost unfeasible for them to switch allegiance, but there are factions of those groups that are growing that do embrace the conservative message. It is also feasible to think other groups like the Cubans, like the Indians, like the Asians as they become more and more established will naturally fall into the right coalition. Left even though claim to be progressive, in reality will only succeed if they maintain the status quo, the rights advantage is that the more people succeed the stronger their inclination is to join the conservative movement.
this is a MAJOR FAIL by the Bernie campaign. one stupid comic, is completely meaningless - - - Updated - - - tens of millions of Hispanics will suddenly run to Bernie, because of this stupid little comic????????????? wow. - - - Updated - - - Obama was a Junior Senator.
He's not offering any trillions in free sh*t. Nothing he has proposed is free. Nothing, period, is free. - - - Updated - - - wrong again !!!!!! https://reason.com/blog/2015/09/15/bernie-sanders-the-18-trillion-dollar-ma " What is driving support for Sanders' campaign? The promise of lots of free (*)(*)(*)(*) certainly helps. The Wall Street Journal has analyzed Sanders' campaign proposals and estimated that his plans for new federal programs would cost $18 trillion over the next ten years. "
The Republican Party is out of touch and lss diverse. They have next to no minority voters. Forget the tokens they put up, minorities don't like the GOP.
