Ron Paul stands by his calling Gingrich a chicken hawk, and brilliantly explains, and also about him being a racist - BRILLIANT performance by Ron Paul: http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=endscreen&v=zcPXRhrGvjA&NR=1
If it was brilliant he would have destroyed Romney and Santorum convincing all the republicans he's the best choice. As it stands he only defended his position and re-iterated his usual talking points. He didn't do anything bad but didn't do anything different than he does in every other debate. His performance was ok but nothing groundbreaking.
If Paul wants the nomination he has to start doing something. He's doing ok in the polling but is always behind Romney. Unless something changes he will keep losing primary's and Romney will walk away with it. Paul needs to get Palin for V.P. or Trump of find some dirt on Romney or something outside of the box to swing votes his way. He is hoping that people are all of a sudden going to wake up and see he's correct but it's just not going to happen in time for him to get the nomination.
I dissagree here is how: I firmly believe that in a circus on the establishment media, the winners are set in advance. there are plenty of clues demonstrating this point. Americans (like you and me) are only guilty for not comming up with another way to elect leaders. this is no different then Syrians would watch state media trying to catch up on latest revolutionary movement events.
Well until I am shown evidence that the winners are picked in advance I will continue to rely on real world assessments of what I think candidates are doing to win or lose. Paul is going to lose if he stays on this exact same course and Romney will win.
I don't think it necessarily has to be Paul. Gingrich is sufficiently destroying Romney...and isn't he supposed to come out with a 27 minute film about Romney?
I disagree. Ron Paul will dominate Romney after Florida when the campaign goes west. I haven't looked at all the states but I know he'll take Texas, California, and delegate rich Idaho. He's also won the most strawpolls of any candidate. His strategy seems to be to cut down the other candidates until he is the lone survivor, the 2nd place, the anti-Romney, at which point he'll shine. Going after Romney now is dangerous. Let the other candidates tear him down while they fall out of the race.
Because Romney has the media support locked up. If Ron Paul goes on an all out frontal assault on Romney the full frontal assault on Ron Paul will be the response of the media and he'll end up getting hammered on all sides and risk losing his position as #2 to a Santorum or a Huntsman again. Better to weed out the threats to his own position, like he did against Santorum and Newt in saturday nights debate, let them all continue to crash and burn, continue spreading his message, and go all in against Romney when it's a two man race for the nomination.
Also, notice Romney isn't going after Ron Paul right now and even gave him the "Ask the constitutionalists" line at the debate. This is good. We're getting attacked by enough places to have the perceived front runner trashing us, too. The time will come for the battle with Romney.
Winning straw polls means nothing, just ask Bachmann who won Iowa. You are incorrect to think that he can lose all the east coast states and win the nomination. He needs to start winning now because if he doesn't all the momentum will swing behind Romney.
