    Well written

    =================================================================
In Colorado, conservative politicians have proposed totalitarian policy on cannabis use, which amounts to effective prohibition despite its legality for recreational use in the state.

Republican leaders in the state legislature have called for the following totalitarian restrictions:

    • No smoking in restaurants: effectively criminalizing the cannabis-food pairing restaurants which have popped up.
    • No smoking in bars or cafés - if there's anywhere people should be allowed to smoke pot in public, it's in cannabis bars.
    • Excessive taxes designed to deter use rather than raise reasonable revenue.
    • Bans on vaporizing cannabis where cannabis use itself is illegal - no secondhand smoke from vaporizing, so it makes no sense. Also deters healthy use of cannabis in comparison to smoking.
    • Raising the minimum age of purchase.
    • A ban on cannabis use in virtually all workplaces and indoor venues.
    • A ban on joints wrapped with flavored papers.
    • A ban on smoking within all parks, beaches, and plazas, or within 100ft of schools or hospitals.
    • A ban on smoking in the private homes of those in apartments.

    Now replace the following terms:

    • Conservative politicians with Progressive/leftist politicians
    • Cannabis with tobacco
    • Republican with Democrat
    • Colorado with New York, Denver with NYC.

    Keep totalitarian though.

I do not understand Progressive advocacy for cannabis legalization given how they've regulated tobacco into the ground. There is no point legalizing cannabis if it's going to be regulated in such a way - it's arguably better handled by the black market under the drug war.

Don't even get me started on the FDA. They support the drug war emphatically, and feel that the individual should have to justify his private use, for medical or recreational use, to the state. Progressives constructed the drug war - their idols like FDR. They are no friends to drug users. They're arguably even worse than the GOP.

What are your thoughts? I apologize for the deception, but it was necessary to make a point :p
