    I am simply referring to gays and lesbians today. They aren't up in arms over equal rights because they're a bunch of heteros who consciously choose to be gay.. That's not to say that there haven't always been natural homosexuals among the human population, of course.

    Homosexuality is a western concept invented in the 19th century. A non existant concept in many 3rd world eastern countries. Likely a temporary fad.

    The separation of sexuality from procreation entails its freedom from heterosexuality and its emergence as an individual attribute, something individuals can develop, enjoy, change or project as part of their changing definition of the self. Sexuality becomes plastic because the self itself has broken the bounds of traditional institutional expectations and it is now free to constitute and reconstitute itself in a series of narratives answering to nothing else but the growing freedom of individuals to develop their potential

    Once upon a time, people just did things in this area. Now they 'are' things. The way we categorize the world affects the way we act and speak. Why not just let people get on with it as long as they don't harm others?
