Here you go! Here's the big change in money that some of you have been predicting would happen.

Common sense says that Biden is too old to see the end of this, but he's here to start it.

I think it will all go well... until someone thinks to change a 1 to a 0. Anyone else think of this Rick and Morty moment?

 

You know, a thought occurs to me. If we default on the debt, then that might usher in the future digital currency.

The Republicans in the House will be useful idiots. Not raising the debt ceiling.

I'll have to go into details about the consequences of a default later, but suffice to say physical dollars are going to be harder to use as well as to take as payment.

 

For those who may not realize it, this is far closer to coming to reality than many people think. I'm not talking about the political push, but all the technology and systems are already in place. There are a lot of people these days don't even bother to use physical cash.

And I think it would be a horrible dystopian reality. Imagine, at the push of a button some government official can "turn off" all your money. Imagine you can't buy or sell anything through normal means.

Many on the Left would be licking their lips at this prospect. Imagine they would be able to implement new forms of "monetary policy" that would currently be unprecedented or impossible today. Things like lowering interest rates all the way into negative territory. (Where a percent of money is actually taken out of your account, taxing you on saving it)

Not to mention being able to track every purchase anyone makes, instantaneously, another way for government to know citizen's locations at all times or exactly where they go. No privacy, the possibility that this sort of information could be misused in the future.

 

With a digital currency it will be impossible for people to avoid paying income tax by working for cash .......

that part of the USA economy will be gone!!!!!!

I do believe that all Americans should take a look at what Canada's Prime Minister Justin Trudeau did just a couple of years ago that in my opinion is a warning of how bad a digital currency could soon become.

Most politicians will consider this fact to be a sufficiently good reason to support a digital currency but..... rest assured that an unethical political leader who can be bribed due to his behaviour in the past could be forced to enact measures that are not good for the majority of citizens at all.

In my opinion...Bill Gates either has a lot of power over many political leaders or some of his supporters certainly do. P. M. Trudeau seems to do the bidding of Bill Gates most of the time!
